I actually have no problem with Chuck, I just can't stand Chuck's crazy ass fans. Same thing with Firefly, like the show, hate the movie and I can't stand the "browncoats", also the same with Arrested Development.

Those "crazy ass" fans are main reason it's still on the air.
And that's an unfair comparison. Chuck fans will never claim it's the best show ever made, unlike the other two.
Actually, no. "Crazy ass fans" never make up enough of an audience to keep a show on the air.

Actually, yes. Those "Crazy ass fans" started a Subway tie-in marketing campaign that caused the NBC brass to give it another season.
Perhaps it would be better stated that the "crazy ass fans" alone won't keep a show on the air. As such a show must have a larger audience than just those who are motivated enough to organize and/or participate is such active support of it. However, in the case of Chuck, it was the actions of the "crazy ass fans" that tipped the scales to get the show renewed.
Don't be suckered in. It was another Cagney and Lacey "saved by the fans" PR move by the network.
The network takes a borderline-cancelled show, gets the hype going, and the fans get to think they saved the show, while the show ends up getting tons of publicity and the network looks like good guys for "giving in and the giving the show one more chance for the fans".
Not cynicism, just basic TV public relations.
And I don't care. I love the show.

That's what I thought at first, but I just don't think NBC is smart enough to do something like that. Maybe I'm underestimating them though.
Chuck has been picked up for 6 more episodes bringing the total to 19, which is NBC's new "full" season because they are cheap.

That was mostly a Star Trek thing. 22-24 and sometimes 25 has been normal for decades.
I'm glad about the 19. I'll have something to watch over the summer!
Not completely true, The OC had 27 episodes it's first season because it was a hit, Dallas had 30-35 a season.
