I dunno. I felt last week like it was getting a lot darker with Chuck lying and turning into kind of a bastard. I almost want it to go down a path like that.

Well I think the writers have to be careful. I mean, taking a slighty darker approach will probably work great. However making Chuck a real bastard, as you nicely put it, might not go down too well with most fans.

However I do have to admit that I have a ton of faith the the Chuck writers. So personally I'm not at all worried. As long as they get to do a proper finale when the shows ends (hopefully we'll at least get another season) I'll be happy.

I just don't know how it's gonna go. I think it has to end badly for someone. I don't think Chuck can continue to lead this double life forever, which means one of three things:

1) He tells his family and friends that he's a spy (which he wouldn't do because it puts them at risk)

2) Chuck dies saving the world, and that's how his family finds out about his true identity

3) Chuck finally realizes he has to leave his family to keep them safe.

I just don't see it having a happy ending. Even if Chuck somehow loses the Intersect, at this point do you think he would give up his life as a spy?

He has to because let's face it.. without the Intersect he just isn't Spy material.

He just isn't that "cool" under fire and lacks several skills.. sure he's intelligent and resourceful but more often the Intersect saved him where normal Spy training would save a field agent, i.e. close combat skills and such.

He might be a good analyst or Tech guy for the CIA but that's about it.

Yeah that I can understand and agree with. The status quo is gonna have to change at some point. Now it might not be until the finale, but it's gonna have to change someday. Honestly, to me, option #3 seems the most likely one.

Though honestly, #1 is a possibility as well. I mean, even if he doesn't tell them the truth, his family and friends are still in the position where they can get hurt.

Maybe, but I think one of the main points of this season is to show that he really IS becoming a spy. Hell, Casey even said so last week. He's not great, but he is certainly learning.

My problem with #1 is that I doubt the government is going to let Chuck get away with telling everybody. It's bad enough that Awesome knows.

^ Good point... I'm not really sure how they'd get around that, but I'm sure the writers could think of something. ;)

Average (Chuck). Eh, this kissy face stuff bores me.

Was Chuck walking around with that weird guitar at the end for product placement? That was just random! :rommie:

People who think the show is somehow ruined because Chuck and Sarah seem to be moving in different directions AT THE END OF ONE EPISODE are truly sad individuals.

I would be overjoyed if I thought there was a realistic prospect of Chuck and Sarah not ending up together. The dreary predictability of it all is what make the kissy face stuff so boring.

Chuck is not anywhere near dark enough to kill the lead in the finale. They could push this show darker, and should, but that would make it like an entirely different show.

Chuck will never be a CIA field agent. It's ridiculous to think he could do that without having a killer instinct or even a frakkin' gun. He'd have to have Sylar-type telekinesis to overcome the advantage of foes who have any kind of weaponry they can lay their hands on. Hard to use kung fu on a guy shooting at you from a distance, who you don't even see.

I'm hoping this is some sort of closure to Chuck and Sarah's whole dewy-eyed thing but who am I kidding? It'll be back in three episodes tops.

I'm glad Sarah's out of the lonely hearts club though. It would be absurd to give Chuck a third gorgeous girlfriend (seriously, how many times are the writers going to go to the well on this one?) and leave Sarah alone again. I just wish it wasn't a character so insanely creepy and stalkerish as Shaw. Hell, Casey would have been preferable to him.

That was a Guitar Hero controller.

That was the worst product placement I've seen yet! They didn't even attempt to integrate it into the storyline, like on Heroes, with Claire waving her Sprint phone at the camera on the thin excuse that she's using it as a flashlight (!?!)

How is it the worst? Chuck plays video games all the time. It makes sense for him to wander out of his room playing Guitar Hero.

It's certainly a lot more subtle than the Subway stuff! (which, btw, wasn't Subway supposed to be playing a bigger role this season?).

Well... if it keeps the show on the air, I can deal with product placements like that one.

Because it's lazy. The writers aren't even trying to rationalize the product placement. If they're going to be absurdly crass, they can at least put a little effort into it. (And yeah I know that the ratings don't give them much choice.)

Eh, I thought it made perfect sense. I didn't even consider it product placement at the time. It was just Chuck playing Guitar Hero, which, let's face it, is something he would totally do.

I guess maybe it would throw you off if you didn't automatically know it was Guitar Hero, but since I have seen way too many Guitar Hero controllers in my friend's houses, it didn't even phase me.

maybe it was one of those geek things where only a gamer would understand. I dont console game, but I did recognize it for what it was. any other significance was lost to me.
