^ I didn't even recognize you with your Eliza avatar. ;)

Though I definitely find Strahovski hotter than Kreuk.

Re: Chuck -3x06 -"Chuck vs. the Nacho Sampler"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Awesome! Looks like my fears about the new premise were unfounded, since the writers are willing to push it to its logical conclusion and have Chuck doing to other people what the audience used to fear other people would do to Chuck.

There still is a slight problem here, that the fantasy spy tone of the show works against its emotional logic. Would a nice guy like Chuck really condemn some poor idiot to prison without so much as a whiff of due process, just to protect America from Boris and Natasha Badanov? If the foes were al Qaeda, and the threat felt immediate and valid rather than cartoonish, maybe I could see it.

There's really only one place for this story to go: Chuck realizes he's in the wrong profession and gives up spy work forever. What else can he do? He can't just magically change the CIA so that nobody ever uses guns or sends relatively innocent people to Gitmo.

Since there's no other outcome possible here - unless the writers are planning something really radical, a personality change for Chuck that sends him spiralling into the outer darkness - Chuck seems like a fool for persisting in a lost cause. The outer-darkness idea might be intriguing, but Chuck seems too sensible and intelligent for that angle to be plausible unless some sci fi brainwashing is involved.

I guess that's a lot of carping for a show I just rated Awesome. The writing and acting are good enough that the show is fun on a moment to moment basis. It's only afterwards that I start to think about the underlying problems. For instance, the "eye for an eye" scene with Casey and Chuck was a masterpiece of comedic timing. :D There are so few good shows, and especially so few good comedies - I can appreciate Chuck for what it is.

Kristin Kruek is so much hotter than Strahovski!!
I must be the only one who thought she looked goofy in slo-mo.

At any rate Strahovski has an Aussie accent. Game. Set. Match.

I'm not really seeing the appeal of Kreuk here either, definitely felt goofy watching her in slow mo 'hot' mode. I never watched Smallville or whatever else she was in, so no preconceived geek crush... maybe that's the difference. Tricia Helfer in the naughty cop outfit some episodes back though....

Anyway, I've watched through Chuck for the first time from the begging over the last few weeks, and I love this show. I didn't think I would, but here I am. Credit goes to Temis posting "Chuck's a great show, but the sexual tension is forced!" in every other thread on the board for putting it in my head to give it a try.

Adam Baldwin's right wing gun nut comedy schtick is hilarious. The rest is pretty good. They also have a great sense of what kind of geek references to use. They're well targeted for this 28 year old geek.

And come on, Jeffster's Africa and Mr. Roboto? :guffaw:

It's just too bad I can't watch 2-3 episodes a day anymore and I'm stuck waiting like the rest of you suckers.

Hah hah, got someone to watch! :bolian:

Adam Baldwin's right wing gun nut comedy schtick is hilarious.

Yeah, they should use it more/push it further. I can't buy all these alleged CIA agents who are politically denatured.
