Oh Boy!

It's Monday and we have have a new episode with a couple of well known guest stars.

Chuck's dreams seem to come true: his dad returns (guest star Scott Bakula) and he lands a job with his hero Ted Roark (guest Chevy Chase)

I am on west coast time, so I will be back after Chuck and Heroes airs here.

Not entirely sure how I'm the first one to post in the weekly Chuck thread, but that was one fantastic episode!

After tonight's episode along with the preview for next week's episode, I tend to believe the writers when they say they have a real game changer in mind for the end of this season. Chuck might not be a show with tons and tons of serialization, but the writers do seem to be setting things up for a big change--no one can go through what Chuck has and still remain good ol' Buy More Chuck (well, unless they channel ST Voyager...highly unlikely). Awesome's speech to Ellie about never leaving her just HAS to come into play somehow too.

Loved the fact that Apple got top billing over Microsoft, and that the keyboard to run the Intersect 2.0 was also an Apple keyboard!

Great episode, and we DID get an "Oh, boy" out of someone!

This is the best show on TV bar none. How Americans can watch Chuck Lorre crap and Dancing with The Stars over it just shows how low this country has fallen. I haven't had a show blow me away like this since the first run of Buffy and Angel.

Loved this episode. Great fun and good story, even if the identity of Orion was predicted weeks ago by several posters here. So, Chevy Chase is the Steve Jobs of the Chuck-verse and Chuck's dad, Backula, is the Steve Wozniak only without the money.

The only nitpick I have is, does anyone in any universe believe Chevy Chase and Scott Bakula could have been in school together? Isn't Chevy at least 10 years older?

Unless somehow Chuck's Dad skipped elementary school and instead of going to the first grade started off a freshman in High School... ;)

Actually, Chevy Chase was a Bill Gates personality and penchant for "borrowing" other people's work, but presented in a Steve Jobs type arena.

Great episode! Loved the "Orion" reveal, even though it was predicted. I really hope the game-changer is big, big, big.

And a little Glasvegas on the soundtrack tonight, as well...

I love Chuck, think it is one of the funniest shows on tv. However I have to disagree about last nights episode. For me, it was easily the worst episode of Chuck. Scott Bakula was the absolute wrong choice for Chuck's dad. I hated seeing Chevy Chase basically doing Chevy Chase, there is a reason no one puts him in anything anymore and last night was a classic example why.

While I agree with you about Chevy Chase, it wasn't enough to impact my enjoyment of the episode; the Roarke character worked perfectly.

OTOH, I thought Bakula did a fine job. This is the first time I've seen him in anything this millennium where I wasn't thinking "what a dumbass" about the character he was portraying or wondering why his acting felt so wooden and off when I know he can act (in Quantum Leap).

Awesome

Love Scott Bakula, no matter what (I do own Necessary Roughness on DVD).

Enjoyed Chevy Chase in this (especially the Clark face, ya know the one).

And I really liked the Chuck vs Casey scene in the bunker.

I, for one, did not think Chuck's Dad would turn out to be the brains behind the Intersect and loved the reveal.

And when I was watchin' it tonight, my roommate looked at the screen when Chuck & Scott Bakula were standin' shoulder to shoulder, and she said, "Damn, that's some good casting."

I was hoping that Chuck's dad would not end up being involved with the Intersect, just because it would seem totally implausible.

But then they had the scene where Scott Bakula pretty much acknowledges how implausible the whole thing is, and that makes it okay.

I love everything about this show. Except the lack of Anna. Where the fuck does she keep going?!

Great episode. I think Bakula was a perfect fit as Chuck's Dad. It was nice to see him act well again too as I was very disappointed with Bakula's acting on Enterprise.

It also seems like Chuck might be learning how to control the Intersect now. About time!

I'm guessing the actress is doing something else, but it is irritating how many times it's like "oh yea her and Morgan are moving in together" and then the plot just disappear without any mention until she shows up again and they rehash it. Maybe it's a running joke now

Another Awesome. This show just doesn't quit. Loved Bakula in the role. If Chuck doesn't get renewed for another season, it will be the worst cancellation since Firefly. :klingon:

That was classic. Yay Chuck! You know you better head for Zanzibar now.

You think we could get a movie out of it?

What should we Chuck fans call ourselves? Every great fan movement needs a name!

I don't know, but I've gone so far as to make the Chuck theme my ringtone. Haven't done something like that since the Fruity Oaty Bar jingle.

"Naaa na-na na-na, na-na na-na naaa naaa..." :techman:
