I don't have any issues with C.L. getting as much milage out of Doc Brown as he can. One, the character is iconic, and two, he's the only actor who can believably reprise their BTTF role. I love MJF, but I don't think I want to see him showing up as Marty.

Did C.L. have a good agent? I would guess so. But he was a very hot property after Taxi and he is a fantastic character actor.

I don't think he's really milking it for money, so much as he simply loves playing Doc Brown.

I still think his Kruge is incredibly underrated, and one of the strongest Trek movie villains they've ever had.

People like to dismiss it as being too campy or whatever, but I thought he was absolutely PERFECT, and was just as scary and intimidating a presence as Khan in the previous movie.

I agree. I think his performance is great.

He's surprisingly substantial, just like his role on Taxi. Oh, no, he could never play uncle Fester. Oh, he could never play a Klingon Commander. Well, yes. Unbelievable performances. His sense of realness is unparalleled which worked well for both roles. The quirky character is always called for. Another actor that surprised me by his talent was Mark Walberg.

An odd aside, the plump girl from Stacked went on to be a supporting character in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where she (Her character) spends a respectable amount of time half naked rolling around on top of a half naked Danny DeVito.

He's certainly been milking the Doc Brown role over the last few years.

True, but it doesn't bother me. Doc Brown is still a beloved icon, who is instantly recognizable by almost anyone of this and the previous generations. I love many of his other characters, but I have to admit, Doc Brown is my favorite. I hope when I get old, that I can be that eccentric (and also have that much hair!).

Yeah, I think it's partly his agent, who likely suggested he take on the roles, and the fact that he only starred if he liked the script. I recently saw an interview, actually it was more like reunion with all of the BTTF cast, and he said that he almost didn't take the part of Doc Brown, but his agent literally forced him to read it because he had a good feeling about it, and he ended up really liking it and if it weren't for that, we would have gotten a very different Doc Brown. He just happens to be very choosy for the most part, which in turn benefits us

Clue has always been a favorite of mine. Very underrated and funny movie.

I've always been a fan of Christopher Lloyd's work. I remember he used to be everything but after the mid-90s, it was like you couldn't find him anywhere. He would pop up once and a while but the day where he would be in big movies is over.

Agreed, he does not seem to have as good an agent any more. BTTF is my all time favorite movie. Yesterday I finally got my first Blu-ray player and of course the first thing I got for it was the trilogy which I already watched the whole thing again.

I miss seeing him in such memorable roles anymore. It's surprising because you would think that some of the new younger generation of directors would cast him in one of these new franchises. Having growup on his earlier roles.

Good point about today's directors. I've often thought the same about Harrison Ford. His movie career has not been the same since 1997's Air Force One. He went back to sci-fi with Cowboys and Aliens. I thought he was good in that but it was one of the disappointments on the summer. There has to be SOME young, hotshot, new director out there that would jump at the chance to work with Harrison Ford.

Lloyd would be great to use as well.

Haha yeah, in fact I think that's who almost got the role instead! I can't really picture John Lithgow in the role because Christopher Lloyd was just so good at it.

I agree. I think his performance is great.

Gotta disagree. Big fan of Lloyd but the part of Kruger just didn't work for me. And it didn't help to have Dan Larroquette as his second in command. It was like "Star Trek vs the NBC Thursday night lineup"

I agree with you. They did a great makeup job to make him nearly indistinguishable, but at the same time, it's likely the iconic voice that make it not work as well for me. I mean, it's great that they got Christopher Lloyd, but this just proves that even all great actors aren't meant for everything. Some things just don't work as some actors will stand out more, and this is one of them.
