Chris Pine appreciation thread

There were several reports during and immediately following filming of cast members talking about how much fun they were having making the movie and how much they enjoyed working with each other. We weren't finding out much else, back then, but we knew they were having a good time.
I remember this - someone from the movie always seemed to mention the fun times they had, which is what made it so hard to wait for the bloopers. I found the bloopers funny but it was disappointing that they were so short considering all the fun stuff we heard took place. And it seemed everyone commented on how hysterical Simon Pegg was but yet we saw so little of him in the bloopers. And Chris Doohan talked about all the pranks Chris pulled but there really wasn't much of that at all. We did get a lot of JJ beating a rhythm on stuff. Maybe the next movie we'll get more funnies.
I don't know whether they had placed any sort of time limit on the gag reel, but the biggest reason for not having more is usually that the best stuff always seems to happen when the camera is looking the other way or the tape isn't rolling. For every one they catch, there are five or ten better ones which got away.
That's why they should always have a few random camera guys that do nothing but just sit there and tape everything that's going on for possible gag reels.

I was rather surprised at Chris Pine's performance. It seems no one explained to him the amount of overacting required to play Captain Kirk. There was virtually no overacting by him in this movie...

I thought I would share my desk top wallpaper with you as it is one of my favorite pictures. I change the walllpaper about once a week but I think this one will stay for a while.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Here's a picture of Chris when he attended a Costume Party on Halloween 2008. Apparently Zachary was at the party as well. He sure makes a cute cowboy.

You know...I saw this movie again yesterday (for only the second time - the first outside of the theatre)...and once again, I have a whole new wave of appreciation for Chris Pine.

What an incredible job!

Well my family knows me. Both my sister and my brother got me the 6 inch Playmates Kirk action figure for christmas lol. My sister is going to exchange it for something else, but still, they both independently got me a Chris Pine.

^ You know, I've never been one for action figures...but I just might get one of Chris Pine...to go along with my Burger King glass. :borg:

Thanks, Pam! I hope yours was nice. :) Chris does make a cute cowboy! I love westerns; I'd like to see him in one if they ever make them again. He would have been great in, say, Silverado.

I really did want to buy one, but it doesn't look the least bit like him, except for being humanoid. I hope they fix that for the sequel, and I will definitely buy one.

I really love Chris Pine's Kirk he was absolutely brilliant, nailed the essence of what Shatner did but made it his own I loved every moment with him especially at the end of the movie when he had his Shatner mannerisms and what he says.:techman::)

I think the Trek-Barbie Kirk figure is kind of cute and looks more like Chris than the one Target was selling. I haven't bought this one yet but I would like to eventually.

And you know folks will buy it. Consider how much money Jackson could/would make by releasing more of the bhs from the LOTR trilogy. JJ would make a mint.

I don't understand why they were able to duplicate Nero's and Quinto's look with better accuracy than they did with Pine's. Strange. Maybe different artists did the sculpts and Pine's dolls were done by someone with lesser skills..

But i agree with you Jeri, the Mattel Kirk is way better than the other one.

OMG PAM!!!!!!! That Halloween picture is too fabulous!!! He looks so cute and innocent, kind of reminds me of Midnight Cowboy!!!

Is this thing Barbie sized then? This is the first time I've seen it.
