Chris Pine appreciation thread

No, it's not that; it's the downed-airline plotline. As I remember it's set in the time frame the movie was made (2000).

oh! huh! Not the movie i was thinking of then. I dont think.

i think we need a chris pic......

this one is so purty!

Here is a picture from yesterday of Chris attending the Queen Nefertari Productions Launch at Sunset Tower. Not sure what that is for and don't have time to look any further but it sure is nice he is back in town so we can see him more often. He looks so happy.

Queen Nefertari Productions would seem to be a new company started by a woman who won (with other family members) $112 million in the Mega Millions lottery.

What's Chris Pine's involvement? Other than that he was on the guest list for the party, I've got no idea, but there are a couple of other pictures of him here.

he looks very handsome does it really matter what he was doing there or not all that matters is that's a recent pic and boy does he look awesome or shall I call him captain Pine.

Thanks, M'Sharak. I was curious and didn't have time to read about the production company. Perhaps he's friends with one or more of the people involved with the production company or one of their projects. It's nice to see him back in town and getting around.

Anyone know where these are from? The blu-ray extras? If so, I missed seeing this scene. Chris looks adorable.

Pam, I don't remember these from the extras either. Heh, I just noticed their 'marks' on the floor in that last picture.
And look at Quinto wiping his nose on his sleeve!

Randi, I think in that last picture it's during the discussion/argument before Kirk is booted off the ship. I watched the movie again over the weekend and saw that in that scene Spock takes a step or two closer to Kirk during their "discussion." I really like pictures like this, the behind the scenes stuff. And I am wondering if the pictures above that one might be right after their gag on the jellyfish. Maybe that's why Quinto is wiping his nose - from giggling. And Chris looks so gleeful. Might be - might not be but it puts a smile on my face.

Pam, you could be right on that guess. That gag was soooo funny. I loved how they put the irish sounding music in the background of that bit. And what kind of accent would you say Chris was doing in there? German? Hilarious!

I am not sure Chris was trying any specific accent or just goofing around but whatever it was, the whole scene was hilarious. Chris actually does quite a good Scottish accent.

I was thinking the same thing -- that those pics are from right after the outtake that was in the gag reel. Where they're walking out has to be the back end of the Jellyfish set, opposite from where the chair and window are.

If it wasn't that blooper then they look like they were having a good time, which seems to have happened a lot during the making of the movie. Chris looks so tickled and the others do, too, so perhaps it is right after that scene. I would like to know where these pictures came from because, as I said a few posts earlier, I've watched the blu-ray extras and I sure don't remember seeing this scene or pictures. I will have to research that this weekend - calls for another viewing of all the extras.

There were several reports during and immediately following filming of cast members talking about how much fun they were having making the movie and how much they enjoyed working with each other. We weren't finding out much else, back then, but we knew they were having a good time.

The sacrifices you have to make, eh?

I remember this - someone from the movie always seemed to mention the fun times they had, which is what made it so hard to wait for the bloopers. I found the bloopers funny but it was disappointing that they were so short considering all the fun stuff we heard took place. And it seemed everyone commented on how hysterical Simon Pegg was but yet we saw so little of him in the bloopers. And Chris Doohan talked about all the pranks Chris pulled but there really wasn't much of that at all. We did get a lot of JJ beating a rhythm on stuff. Maybe the next movie we'll get more funnies. And speaking of JJ, how about in the commentary they comment on the scenes in the movie instead of all the general stuff. That was a big disappointment to me. Maybe some of the cast can be in on the commentary next time as well. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know whether they had placed any sort of time limit on the gag reel, but the biggest reason for not having more is usually that the best stuff always seems to happen when the camera is looking the other way or the tape isn't rolling. For every one they catch, there are five or ten better ones which got away.
