Chris Pine appreciation thread

Oh my. Jeri! Those pictures! The pants! And the hand on the neck. Pulling her in..... the look of determination on his face!!!!!!

GAH!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a silly schoolgirl with a very VERY dirty mind!

I feel the same way. Love it.

Just in case you ladies (and gents) havent checked...Salvorhardin posted the deleted scenes in another thread. they will most likely be pulled soon....so get your eyes over to here to see Chris in a hilarious deleted scene. He has such great comic timing!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrLU3DU-ycM

Thanks Salvor -- you rock!

He needs to do some comedy. The not-Gaila scene is so cute. I love it. I'm praying it'll still be available by the time I get home so I can save it. And the other Kirk, Gaila deleted scene, which I haven't been able to watch yet. It's killing me! Hee hee.

Seeing him with the glasses reminds me of something I read and I hope it wasn't on this board so that I'm repeating what someone else already posted. <crosses fingers> The reason he's wearing glasses is because he was having trouble with his eyes as he had his contacts in for too long. I think he looks great with or without glasses, btw. Thanks, Jeri, for these and all of the other screen caps. They are gorgeous. Makes me even more eager to see the ST screen caps.
Believe me, it's my pleasure. :D I think I heard that about his contacts difficulties, too. And I think I saw him in an interview or something with glasses -- looking adorable, as usual.

"Genovia would be in good hands -- and she would be happy."

Do you think she will leave Andrew and marry you?

I just want us to stop trying to sabotage her.

Alright, if that's what you really want -- tell her we surrender.

Wow, these are delicious. I particularly like the second one but they are all awesome. Thanks so much, Jeri.

You're welcome. I like the second one, too; shows his hands off to nice advantage. His fingers look long in that picture.

Click thumbnails for larger; twelve caps in this scene.

The archery lesson.

Would you like some help?

Take your stance.

Use your mouth as an anchor.

Touch your mouth.

Relax this hand.

And breathe in.

Release.

How did that feel?

Wonderful. Wonderful.

Wow, these are just gorgeous. I especially like the side shot of him in the third one if you get my drift. Many thanks again. I can't wait to watch the movie this weekend. And Blind Dating.

Posting this one for the folks who joined us late in this thread...

Ok, thats a lie. I'm posting this for me.....

Randi, you read my mind! I switched computers recently and was wondering where that picture got to -- I was just coming on here to ask M' where I could find it easily. You are psychic! Thanks a bunch.

I realized a couple days ago that I've been dreaming with Chris -- long, multiple part dreams. I get back to sleep and start dreaming with him in them again. Next night, too.

Not to hard to figure, since I've been looking at him for weeks every day now. But it sure is nice. Nothing X-rated; he's just in them.

Wow, these are just gorgeous. I especially like the side shot of him in the third one if you get my drift. Many thanks again. I can't wait to watch the movie this weekend. And Blind Dating.
I do indeed get your drift. There's a shot I couldn't get where Nick puts his hand on her hip; but he's behind her, and it doesn't make a good cap. You will see that when you watch.

Sometimes screen caps are better than the motion picture; but not this time. Chris makes this scene magical. His moves and voice are -- like she says -- wonderful. You are going to enjoy it.

LOL! Jeri, that is too funny! I was going through my pictures and couldn't decide between that one and two others.... obviously THAT'S the one that won!

I would LOVE it if there was one from that open shirt series with his head upright. I find myself turning my head to see his face....

Thank YOU for all the screen caps you've been posting for us. I will try to get to the library today to take PDs out as i still havent seen it.

So, below is text I lifted from an IMDb Chris Pine message-board topic on his movie, "Carriers," which had a limited theatrical release. It's a horror flick, and I've noticed various places people like his acting in it. His character is apparently a real jerk.

"Carriers DVD will be out in late November...As for Carriers, I'm still in awe of what they achieved with such a measly budget! The screenwriting is flawless! The characters are forced to make moral choices which nobody should ever have to make. It's unflinching. And wow! Chris CAN transform into a total a-h0le like nobody's business! A solid 8.5/10.

"...This movie was made in 2007 by Paramout Vantage (the now-defunct indie wing of Paramount Pictures). It's directed by Alex Pastor and David Pastor.

"8-9 minutes of vital scenes are missing in my print (which I've separately watched 2 months back in German language). It's about a group of 4 people trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic environment and more importantly trying to survive each other. A gripping drama actually!

"The pacing is deliberately slow and dialog driven. The movie has garnered positive word of mouth everywhere and horror writer Stephen King has heaped praises in his Entertainment Weekly column.

"There are a few random scares here and there but no zombies, or exploding cars or CGI effects. It's definitely not summer blockbuster material. But the ensemble acting is surprisingly good and there's plenty of suspense to keep it interesting and entertaining. It should've done decent business if it got a wider theatrical release with visible publicity (i.e. something more substantial than a couple of Internet trailers)."

Thanks for this, Jeri. I was wondering if they were even going to put out a dvd since it was in such a limited release. Not sure I want to see Chris play such an unsympathetic character and it's really not my kind of movie but.... Same with Smoking Aces. Seeing the pictures of him in it kind of makes my skin crawl. I know he's gotten really good reviews for his performance in it but he looks so creepy. I wish they would release Small Town Saturday Night. Not only does he look really good but he sings and plays guitar. Now that I want to see. Only 20 more days until the ST dvd!!!

Am i the only geek that is looking forward to doing the new movie in a line by line thread? How depressing is that??

Starquest, would you tell me about Small Town Saturday Night? I haven't heard anything about it.

Randi, I'm surprised they don't already have one going.

This is from IMDb:

"Just days before leaving for Nashville, Rhett Ryan discovers that the desire to follow his dream conflicts with his desire to be with the woman he loves. While Samantha does love the singer-songwriter, she starts to realize what's best for her daughter and their future may not be what's best for him. Tommy Carson works around the clock to keep the peace in Prospect, but Donny, who is on a downward spiral, makes this even more difficult for the deputy. And Les just wants to fit in with his big brother's friends, but his overbearing mother desperately wants him to stand out. The subtle interconnections of these character's lives will bring them all closer together, culminating in Rhett's final performance."

Chris plays Rhett Ryan. The film did have a website but I can't find it now. That doesn't bode well for the release. One of the Chris Pine fan sites has some pictures of him in the movie - could be Chris-Pine.org. I will have to check when I get home. I think they started production in 2007 or early 2008. Chris' dad is in it, too. What a shame if it doesn't come out.

You'd think with Chris being splashed all over creation now that they'd want to release it. It sounds good; thanks for the description.

These are from the "bachelorette party" scene -- with only one guest.

Love me true...

Oops; stayed out all night...

Yummy.

There's a photographer in the boat...

Wow, so cute (and I'm so redundant).

I've seen some screen caps of some of the extras from the dvd on another site and I am beside myself right now. Such great shots. Also, just found out that Star Trek is still showing in IMAX in Anaheim on Katella near Disneyland this weekend. Three screenings, one at 12 noon, one at 5 p.m. and one at 10 p.m. A friend and I are headed there on Saturday for at least one more viewing.

Jeri, your captions are killing me! (i especially love 'his pants are sliding'.) And by that i mean the caption AND the picture! Just call me Mrs Robinson!
