Chris Pine appreciation thread

Well, I am getting interested to see it. A full-page ad for "Small Town Saturday Night" and AFM. Thanks for all your effort. :)

I notice these are the filming locations:

Cedar Pines Park, California, USA

Crestline, California, USA

Running Springs, California, USA

Twin Peaks, California, USA

Valley of Enchantment, San Bernardino National Forest, California, USA

Yeah, I looked at the one picture from that movie which was posted upthread (Pine sitting next to a gas pump, I think) and I thought "Heyyy, looks like Big Bear!" :) Those locations are in the same general neighborhood as where ENT's "Carbon Creek" was filmed (mostly near Lake Gregory.)

That gas-pump picture is around here somewhere. Pretty sure Pam posted it. I remember Big Bear; I even have a fairly recent outdoors book about it, I think.

Carbon Creek was amazing; I loved that episode. I didn't know it was filmed up there. Every time I think of Big Bear, I think of Robert Conrad being the sheriff up there after WWW.

Apparently there's no way of converting a pdf to a doc file without some kind of program, which I don't have. I am going to try and stop by a friend's house tomorrow night and get her to scan it. Hopefully that way it'll be in color.

Anyone else having trouble with the slip server notices? Really annoying. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon.

Here's another picture I found from Small Town Saturday Night:

Oh, cool! Thanks. Is that the cast or an actual scene? (Doesn't really look like a scene...) That kid with the zinc oxide on his nose... LOL.

That's probably just a cast shot, maybe just hanging around between scenes.

Here's a really nice picture of Chris and Jennifer Morrison, who played his mom in Star Trek, at the premiere for Cloverfield. Aren't they a handsome couple.

I didn't know (or didn't remember) that Conrad had any connection with Big Bear, but the Carbon Creek thing we discovered for ourselves, going over screencaps in the ENT forum right after the ep first aired.

We were identifying all of the old cars in the street shots and trying to work out where in PA it might be, but there were a couple of shots in which you could see signs for Highway 138 and another road, and one which had the name of the local water district (or some similar entity -- I think it may have been called Cedarpines, come to think of it) on it, and from that we had it narrowed down to a pretty specific area. (This stretch of street and several of the buildings on it are easily seen in the episode.)

Edit:

The gas-pump and guitar pic is here.

That is it! That's her bar. I love it; thanks! :D That is my favorite ENT episode -- and one of my favorite all time Trek episodes. I was already a fan of J. Paul Boehmer, and he did a riveting job in that. Thanks a bunch.

Ummmm....no!
:guffaw:I have that picture, too -- and I like it; but I remembered the prohibition against putting a female in the pictures with the object of desire.

Someone might have noticed that even in my screen caps, if I can't conceivably leave a female costar out of a picture, I choose shots where her face is turned away. I live to serve.

I saw a Chris clip that was new to me; maybe it's new to some of you. It's signing autographs at JFK airport. The advantage to this one is how close up it is.

Another mention, this time from the Boston Herald (Affleck, a Bostonian).

That Ben Affleck and his partner Sean Bailey have penned a script based on award-winning author Marcus Sakey’s “The Blade Itself.” The flick is said to be going into production shortly but, as yet, there is no director or star attached. No word on why the Cambridge homey, who is currently calling the shots on the Boston set of “The Town” won’t get behind the camera for this one. However, Chris Pine, who played the young Captain Kirk in “Star Trek,” is rumored to be in contention for the lead.

In the ongoing filming of "Unstoppable," they have moved to Bellaire, Ohio. See this blog for some pictures of where the trail will "derail": Attentive Aphorist: RANDOM PICS...AREA BEING FILMED! (Scroll down.)

Also mentioned was that: Chris Pine (from latest Star Trek movie) is staying at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV., and filming his part at the present time...

Jeri, good girl! No females should be in photos of Chris. It destroys the fantasy!

Hadn't seen that clip of him signing autographs at the airport before. You can tell he isn't thrilled with the whole thing. I can't imagine what it's like having people mob you wherever you go. It was nice seeing him as himself and the quality of that video is nice considering it was probably taken by a cell phone or at least on the spur of the moment.

amazing video he is so cool and his approach to his fans is lovely and great anyway I would have loved it if the premiere of Star Trek was held where I live in Northern Ireland but they could have only done it in London or in other big places ah well wonder what it would be like to meet Captain Fine.

Personal Quotes

On fame: If the worst thing that happens in your life is that you're asked the same question repeatedly for a month, and people look very interested while they're talking to you and wanting to know about you, think about every day you worked at that restaurant and every day you worked as a delivery man for Domino's, every day you were a host, every day you were a bartender and worked until 4 a.m. And then just be very grateful.

I remember that quote. I thought it was charming and gracious. He said it on one of the video interviews back in May. I wonder if he still feels the same way?

Note to self: no more pictures of "our" man with a person of the female persuasion.

Great video of him at the airport. Never would have thought to look on Youtube under Capt. Fine. Who knows what other little gems are there.

I love that quote from him.

Exactly what I thought: a whole nuther category to search for under Captain Fine.

You can now vote for the Peoples Choice Awards. I am really disappointed that Chris didn't wind up in the Favorite Action Star category and that Chris and Zachary didn't make the cut in the Favorite On-Screen Team but Chris is in the Favorite Breakout Movie Actor category. I think he really deserves to win this one. Star Trek is in the Favorite Movie category and Favorite Franchise.
