Chocolate milk is awesome.

I don't think we get it up here in Canada. What is ovaltine? It sounds like something old people take to stay regular.

I've seen Ovaltine in stores up here. My grandmother used to get it all the time because it's a wee bit healthier than Quik powder or other things like that. Not bad at all, but not as good as using chocolate syrup.

It was always peculiar because the mix was granular; it was like chocolate sand.
Really? That's odd. I've never seen it or seen commercials before. Maybe I'm just not paying attention.

You have to admit though, the name does make it sound like something like metamucil.

You're right about not seeing any commercials. I haven't noticed any either, so they're clearly not marketing it.

I love the store bought stuff. Nice and creamy. Actually, mom just picked some up tonight. :) We only get skim milk here so anything I mix up isn't very creamy. Still, if I cant get my hands on the store bought stuff, ovaltine or malt syrup will do fine.

I've seen it too, though not recently - but I haven't looked for it in forever.

It has a malt flavour to it - imagine if you dissolved Maltesers in hot chocolate.

Mmm...Chocolate Milk:drool:

I usually buy it when it comes on sale (99 cents for 1 L). Strange thing is though, I actually enjoy chocolate milk that is made with skim milk rather than the stuff that is from 1% or 2% milk - for some reason the chocolate tastes better this way...

One interesting fact that an ex-coworker once told me (she worked for a dairy company) about chocolate milk is that the chocolate milk that is sold in stores is actually made with milk that is past it's expiry date - this way, if a store doesn't sell all of it's milk, it can be re-used to make chocolate milk. Kinda gross, but definately yummy!

^ Is that because the chocolate flavor masks what would have otherwise been a rather sour milk flavor?

I guess so...

As for whether it's an urban legend or not? Doesn't matter - now, just try not thinking about it next time you drink chocolate milk:vulcan::p

I bought a monster 4 liter jug yesterday, simply because I felt like it. First time I've had it in years and YEARS.

It is going to become a regular on my grocery list from now on.

Thank you for taking the time to read this very important announcement.

Its really, really, really bad for you. 8 oz has 32 grams of sugar!!!!!!!!

RAMA

Jeez, I can't remember the last time I've had chocolate milk, used to love the stuff.

I'd put it on my Count Chocula to boot. :D
