Cheesiest lines?

AdmiralGarak said:
Guinan: "You're a Droid and I'm a Noid."
Oh geez, yes... and that came from one of the female masters of comedy... why the HELL did they give her such a horrid line? Gah.
I also read somewhere (Not sure if it's true or not), that Piscopo was originally supposed to be Jerry Lewis, hence the awful... uhg.. I don't even like to remember that bit.

You guys are being way too harsh about that line. Personally, I thought it was very cute. Data's reaction was funny too. "You made a joke. I am not laughing". :) I actually wish that episode wasn't so bad that I can't watch the rest because I miss being able to revisit that scene from time to time. I think just about everything Whoopi ever did on the show was gold, and that scene was no exception.

It's just not... Whoopie. They could have put in one of her standup jokes (The cleaner ones, of course) as sort of an homage or just an in-joke. It's just too corny for the Whoopster IMO.

I can't believe no one's nominated these two:

"If you prick me, do I not... 'bleek'?"
(Data, "The Naked Now")

And from DS9's "In The Cards" (the last ep before the Dominion War breaks out):
Nog: "Lions... Geigers... bears..."
Jake: "Oh, my..."

There's nothing wrong with the line itself-- it was a good line the first time Worf said it (I think it was in TNG's "Redemption.").

But on DS9, the writers decided to have not only Worf but every Klingon character say it regardless of the context-- and I thought that example was the worst, because the Jem'Hadar had just quoted his slogan, and Worf's response made absolutely no sense except in a "You said your slogan, so I'm gonna say mine" way. They should have had Garak say "There may be hope for you yet" next or something.

LMAO! Both those posts made m lol hard :guffaw:

"i'm reading an ion storm on that trajectory, sir. shake or around it?" - mayweather
"you can't be afraid of the wind, ensign...take us to warp 4." - archer

In a battle scene, whenever Picard tells Worf to "fire at will", I have visions of Worf whipping out a phaser and stunning Riker. I know the line isn't per se cheesy, but it still makes me laugh.

DS9 Trials and Tribbleations

Dax: So i guess you boys from temporal investigations are.....always on time?

If i worked in temporal investigations and someone said that to me, id slap them. What makes it worse is its the funniest thing that Kira's ever heard apparently. Come to think of it, Nana Visitor's laughs were always pretty cheesy to me.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "It's a faaaaaaaaake!" yet. Great line, but cheesy if you think about it too hard.

Dax was so amazing, I loved her humor :borg:

Yes, and that line was supposed to be cheesy. You've never told a joke that you knew was cheesy just for the hell of it? That's how I interpreted that line.

Any time Picard did "Engage" with the pregnant pause finger gesture or he ordered "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." -- almost as bad as when they tried to make "straight and steady" an Archerism . . . I kept thinking it meant Archer was a closeted gay man trying to convince himself he really was hetero.

I really detested the "Klingon bastard" threepeat in Star Trek III, not only because there's no need to modify "bastard" to turn it into a racially-specific insult, but because people chuckled in the theater when I saw the film.

Adding space to anything except "suit," perhaps, sounds 1950s cheesy -- space dock, space doors, etc. If the environment you primarily work in is space, why have to modify any of the words to clarify in the first place?
