Charlie Brookers Screenwipe

Dammit if my house wasn't so cold I would have stayed up for that too :klingon:

Does anyone else find iPlayer videos really jerky when played back on your PC? I think I may have to check the review of the year by "other means".

Flash player can sometimes be a little iffy on firefox for some reason. Try the download option I think there's 2 versions 1 WMV and an Adobe Air version.

I'd thought it might be my connection speed, so I downloaded the last item I'd viewed (Doctor Who Dreamland) and it was pretty jerky. But then I didn't know there were other download formats, I'll try and see if changing makes a difference, thanks.

It could be something over using your CPU. I know flash ads seem to do that on my laptop, and sometimes on my PC too. Check your CPU usage while watching it see if it suddenly shoots up.

I, for one, found it very informative. I had no idea that the Large Hadron Collider was built in Texas for the purpose of creating a black hole in space.

that is ITV 2, a high standard public broadcasting channel, whose mean focus is educational TV. ;)

ITV 2 isn't public broadcasting, only ITV1 is a PSB.

God, could that Ferne Cotton and Peaches show have been more vapid?

Is Ferne cotton radio show that bad as well?
And Bob i think the ITV2 public broadcasting thing was a joke.

Yes. Fearne could have been interviewing Peaches while she interviewed Paris Hilton, who mistook evolution for quantum physics and used this for the basis of a belief in Scientology, while Peaches agreed slowly and Fearne nodded her head and pretended to understand.

Okay, so it would have been exactly the same but with a third idiot involved.

Come on.... come on.... come on.... come on come on.... come on come on... come on come come on!

Brilliant episode, despite being a bit depressing with just how shit TV is now

You never know with wamdue. ;)
obviously I know ITV 2 itself is not a PSB channel, but it is from a PSB broadcaster, so I see no reason not to chuck that in, I was being sarcastic after all. Also it is aired on space that was gifted to ITV due to the fact it is a public service broadcaster.

I liked the "Its Saturday night entertainment" refrain for such moments as the little girl forgetting her lines and being denied a second chance on (forgetting the show) X-factor (?).

lets be honest, ITV should be shut down for that alone, a young girl crying live on saturday night TV, is unforgivable.

^Is it? Why? Does it matter whether it's tears of joy or do they only deserve to be shut down if they're tears of manipulation?
