A great man, on and off the park.
Sad news indeed, he was a brilliant player, and a true gentleman.
While he is rightly remembered as a Celtic hero, he is also a legend here at Kilmarnock.
When he left Celtic in 1989, he passed up the chance to join a number of Premier League teams to join Killie, when we where in the old 2nd Division. He boosted the crowds at Rugby Park by a few thousand, and led the team into the 1st Div. After a few near misses, in 1992 he has handed the managers job, and in his first season took Killie back into the Premier!

He kept us up against all odds the following season when 3 teams were relegated, then the inevitable, Celtic came knocking and he could not refuse.
But, he took us back to the top league in Scotland, and we have been there ever since. Indeed, a true Killie legend.
Rest in Peace Tommy.
