CBS says it CANNOT go forward with ANY new Trek series?

Then there was the story about Abrams wanting to make a TV series as well...

It was Orci, and there was no non-compete for him to violate. Then or now.

If and when CBS feels that making a Star Trek series will be a good financial move, they will make it, and all those "top entertainment" attorneys will accrue some decent fees clearing any existing legal hurdles.

Exactly. They just have to want to. There are no labyrinthine conspiracies in place.

Ended speculation based on unverified and unprovable claims from people who have an interest to not being put in a position of saying "CSB said no, not ever"?

And really, LEGO doesn't translate to the "roundyness" of ST ships.

Bullshit.

Appreciate the enthusiasm, but no need to be harsh - and frankly the creations in the link leave me non-plused.

If LEGO is gonna do it, I want special pieces.

Anyways, like I said, LEGO says they will consider it if an IDEAS projects get the votes. So yer up Karzak :)

EDIT: OK I correct myself: http://trekmovie.com/2012/01/28/craft-of-week-uss-enterprise-c-coffee-table-uss-reliant-in-lego/

That one is pretty nice.

I think their licenses with Lucas Film precludes them from doing Star Trek.

And yet they can do both DC and Marvel, which you think would have an agreement precluding that.

Lego has many, many, licensed lines that they don't really need to add Star Trek to that mix. I've seen a variety of private creations that are well done for Star Trek, but that doesn't mean that LEGO needs to acquire the license. Honestly, with LEGO focus on more younger kids lines I don't see them wanting to get that.

Also, Mattel acquired the license for Mega-Blocks merchandising. And Mega-Blocks use of the Barbie and Halo lines don't seem to be hurting LEGO's sales at all. I don't think adding the Star Trek license, as much as I and other fans would like it, would be beneficial to LEGO.
