But if he admits to ANY wrongdoing, he opens himself up to legal action from angry donors (which may happen anyway)

No, I don't see that happening. His followers have either left the fold disillusioned, and those that remain steadfastly loyal to him simply cannot and will not admit to any wrong doing on his behalf any more than he can admit it himself.

"But the Captain said it's true!"

Speculative conclusion:
defendantGarth is retaining ownership of industry std.
.....................................
Speculative conclusion:
This isn't a real move. This is removing the sets from the studio floor.
....................................
Speculative conclusion:
Sets need to move out to finish the work needed to start renting the studio; installing AC & completing soundproofing. Hence the 'Warp Speed' indicator.
.................................
Speculative conclusion:
Circles back to Mr. B, landlordD, and defendantG have formed some kind of unpublicized partnership and are gearing up to open for business as soon as the AC and soundproofing are in place! And defendantGarth isn't heading out for Georgia anytime soon.
--defendantGarth brings to the partnership deal our studio, our furnishings, and our equipment.
--landlordDanny brings to the partnership deal maybe two months of no rental income.
--Mr. B is bringing the bookings of cash paying clients to the deal.

 This was fun.
Regarding speculative conclusion: "And defendantGarth isn't heading out for Georgia anytime soon."

Am vacillating about that right now and so retracting the speculation. :)

To steal a quote from infamous character who arguably ruined another sci-fi franchise: "Wit no-nutten mula to trade?"

I doubt that. Moving costs money. Right now, I'm betting Alec has very little of that. And even with the proceeds from the IGG, moving the sets and whatnot cross-country is going to use the majority of that. So what exactly are he and Cryssssssstal going to live on in Atlanta?

The kindness of suckers...er...strangers?

Shipping the small amount of unfinished sets (is there more than the unfinished bridge?) to GA. is absurd cost wise; it would be more economical just to start over. By the time they break down the sets, pack and ship them, unload and reassemble them (in an unknown GA studio); it would be far more cost effective to buy some more plywood and 2 X 4's and start over. Besides, he is never going to film "Axanar" anyway, so who cares?

When has Alec Peters ever gone for the cost effective solution?

Mike Bawden has replied to my editorial, saying he's disappointed with my conclusion, but he's not surprised. He tells me that the Indiegogo backers are currently being polled to let them have a say as to what happens next (included allowing for backers to have their pledges cancelled.)

He also notes that one option is for the money to transfer to Axanar Productions (which apparently is seperate to Axanar the film) and they have some new projects in (early) works now.

So the backers are going to decide; are you shi*ting me? Does anyone else find that totally bizarre? Seems like a pathetic attempt to keep people engaged but I'm sure AP already knows exactly what the backers will decide; despite what the real outcome of the poll is. This keeps getting more and more sad.

Hey, guys, Alec here.

Listen, quick poll. Which way do you want it? You are in the driver's seat.
