Tax fraud. Period. Bet Diana prime didn't get w 1099 either.
Didn't they publically say they've issued 1099s to others?
Our friends at the Internal Revenue Service, of course, are more than happy to take an anonymous report. I do believe the form # is F-3949(a). Note: it's not the same as the identity theft form.
Finishing sets!So it's been over a month since the settlement, does any know if Alec has made an strides getting the film made yet? Such as finishing sets, contracting actors, setting up filming dates, etc..

Jonathan – since many Axanar detractors either have ties to or are supporters of STNV, it’s no shock that they ignore that NV has it’s own issues with perks and potentially misdirected donations (how many NV fans were aware the studios were being finished to become a museum rather than to film more episodes? Anyone? Bueller?"
This looks like a fun discussion waiting to happen.![]()
Okay, so wait...So there's some more throwing under the bus in the comments of Lane's last blogpost:

As a multiple donor to Star Trek: New Voyages, I was upset to not even be told they stopped production. I found out only when their FaceBook page changed it’s name. Out $450 in pledges with no perks to be sent; no response on their KickStarter page.

I actually donated to New Voyages, too, and never got any perks.

Axanar = $1.4 million++ of "issues with donations".
Fun discussion ended.
Alec Peters policy has, I think, always been to throw as much shit about as he can and hope no one notices the fact he's already covered in it.I find the whole NV argument a bit moot because the have released 11 hours of content with 2 more in post production........they hardly took the money and ran......Their donors actually have something to show for it.
Income or capital gains the first year, and a business loss (maybe) in the second. The second year would not be a donation as Axa is not a 501(c)(3). And the tax in the first year and any deduction (not a rebate to be skimmed off the top of one's taxes, but a deduction, which would mean most likely the same tax rate percentage taken out, but of a lower overall intake) in the second would most likely not be the same. So, if he was given the $38K in one calendar year and repaid it back the next, what's the IRS's view of such things?

Also, why should Axanar care what NV did or did not do with their perks?
True enough for sure.I find the whole NV argument a bit moot because the have released 11 hours of content with 2 more in post production........they hardly took the money and ran......Their donors actually have something to show for it.

Ian Gear:
"Do you guys have any more episodes planned or is Phase 2 on Long Term Hiatus?"
Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II:
"We will not be filming any more episode."
January 13th
Kirk Martin:
".................us fans want to see the shows you make."
Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II:
"...... we still have 3 unreleased episodes, that may some day be released, but that depends on CBS and will not be soon as still a lot of work to be done (ToD is missing 180 visual effects for example)"
January 20th
Kirk Martin:
"Does this mean you can continue?"
Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II:
"All this would mean for us would be that episodes can be made that follow the guidelines. That would not allow us to make further episodes. Perhaps release our three remaining episodes at some time. Too early to tell.
We are currently releasing a series of eBooks that are just as good as our episodes."
