Geez, this thead is 1282 pages long as I type this; I have to say, William Shatner's admonition to "Get a Life" has never been more relevant. Worse than a Yahoo News conversation about the 2016 election. How many of you guys even have a horse in this race? OK, my first and last post to this thread, and I'm done. Carry on.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass...

I have no dog in this.

All I've got is a llama.

From the Axanar section 31 podcast you brought to everyone's attention, AP said his intention was to create a guild level Hollywood studio. Didn't AP state his Axanar film was going to be his calling card to the industry? It seems to me AP had an agenda once the cash started flowing in that went far beyond just making a fan film which is why I don't buy into his recent ah shucks mission creep deflection.

The internet never forgets.

So why are you making Axanar?
Because we want to make something so spectacular that it serves as a resume and calling card for our work in the industry.

This was the final nail in the coffin for me when I was considering donating. I saw no particular reason why I should fund other people's Hollywood dreams, which were being built on IP they didn't own. If you want to be a Hollywood big shot, show that you have the talent and skill to make something spectacular with an original property. It's easy to parasitize a major franchise with a strong fanbase. It's much harder to find the next great idea in the sea of slush.

Why ask a question if you won't stick around to listen? I wouldn't point fingers about who does and doesn't have a life.

I don't have a financial horse in this. I'm not a donor. However, I am a creator. And copyright is important to me. And seeing a thief get what they deserve, that's pretty exciting.

I have three dogs in this:
  1. One named Truth.
  2. One named Justice.
  3. And one named The Federation Way™.
Have a good day!

You assert people's entire life bandwidth would be filled by reading and commenting here. Yet for many, it is a small sidebar to many other things. All depends how much you are capable of doing, I guess.

I'm sure someone's already said that before, even quoting Shatner. You can see how much attention was paid. Expect similar.

‘BAD CALL’ Producer Alec Peters told a Los Angeles Comic Con panel he regretted how money he raised for Axanar led to mission creep and a ‘bad call’ on a three-year lease on a warehouse he had built into a commercial studio. Read more, watch the video »

So in other words, LFIM is starting to come to terms with the fact he's screwed while also throwing someone under the bus in the hopes of taking *some* of the pressure off. Didn't ever think he would regain his rationality.
