Oops! Christian Gossett's scheduled deposition today was postponed, likely to next month. Here's the AxaMonitor story.
In a way, he is a pawn. I've said for a long time now, and many here seem to agree with me, that W&S doesn't care about him as a client, but rather a means to an end, that being the chance to re-write case-law on how copyrights work in this country. They are looking long-term to future PAYING clients if they can pull this off.how much does W&S even care about getting Alec off.He might only be a pawn in the scheme of things
Far as I know, Christian had gathered everything asked of him in the subpoena. It was Loeb's lawyers who postponed.Maybe the deponent attorneys asked for time to respond to the document demands.
There can be all sorts of reasons for a deposition postponement so I wouldn't read too much into it unless it happens several times.
@trynda1701 - yeah it was on Facebook (and I am running out the door this morning so might not be able to find it again) where Terry M said he had been rereading Ranahan's proposed representation letter and wasn't going to accept it. I'll see if I can locate it but it might just be buried under the big Facebook pile.
Since I have not heard back from Ms. Ranahan with answers of any kind on these fundamentally responsible questions, and on the advice of my independent counsel that is likely still laughing at the contents of the Engagement Letter that was sent over, I'll be politely declining Winston & Strawn's offer of representation.
"And while CBS and Paramount may be the temporary owners of the franchise . . . "You don't need to be on Facebook to read this load of old guff..

Best line for me was "the biggest story of the year around the 50th anniversary is how CBS is suing its fans"
Yeah, of course it was. No one cared about the new TV show or the tragedy of Anton Yelchin passing away in his twenties. I guess this blog post illustrates that, in fact, Alec Peters doesn't care about the new TV show nor Anton Yelchin. And why should he? Nothing in it for him.
True, but that comment illustrates his agenda quite clearly and what he wants his followers to believe. He wants, no, needs them to remember that CBS and Paramount are only the current custodians of Trek and that you never know who could be responsible for it next i.e Alec Peters."And while CBS and Paramount may be the temporary owners of the franchise . . . "
What a load of pap.![]()
How long exactly have CBS and/or Paramount owned Star Trek? The majority of Trek's existence, surely!
After reading that (and borrowing from another Sciencve Fiction franchise) - all I can say is:You don't need to be on Facebook to read this load of old guff..
