The door the hardware store was open and unattended while the owner took lunch, cause the town was so small and everyone knew each other. Leave a payment or a note if you visit then.
Can't blame anyone, really, for pulling up with a panel truck and emptying the place. It was bound to happen eventually. Not as if there were general laws that overruled certain actions even when there was opportunity.
The more apt comparison is that NO ONE was leaving notes, and just taking little things from the store hoping the owner wouldn't notice, THEN someone came along with the panel truck...
It's kind of like those old honor system snack things. Remember those? You'd go into the break room and there would be a box with candy bars, gum, and such, and you would put 50 cents in the little box and get your candy. It was based on the honor system. What happened here was that people were taking a candy bar or a pack of gum here and there without paying for it, but the owner didn't seem to care enough to do anything about it. I mean, things happen sometimes, right? Then we have Alec, who came along, dumped all of the candy into a bag, put it in his own vending machine, and started selling it himself. The more apt comparison is that NO ONE was leaving notes, and just taking little things from the store hoping the owner wouldn't notice, THEN someone came along with the panel truck...
hmm... okay, the spin will be total victimization of everyone while we did everything within our power to build a better world for everyone.https://www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/new-star-trek-fan-film-guidelines?utm_term=.cn0ROwe19#.sumnxgJeK
Really, Alec? Did Paramount and CBS get the guidelines wrong? Should they have come to you for more guidance because you've been such a useful tool for them in the past?
He also doesn't have to send any perks and pocket that cash as well, so win-win on all fronts. This sort of releases Alec of his Donor obligations to create the most coolest, super fantastic, epic film ever with only HIS $1.3 million in the bank... Sorry Fans, CBS said I can't do it.
I do feel for the guy.... NOT
You know, this is a really good analogy, Coloratura. Quite excellent in fact. It's kind of like those old honor system snack things. Remember those? I think "tool" is a very good descriptor for the High Lord Foot Bullet. I don't know about "useful".Motherfucker!!

Also, am I dating myself with that example?
Thank you! That's good. I'm still hip, I'm with it.You know, this is a really good analogy, Coloratura. Quite excellent in fact.
Also, no, you're not dating yourself. The honor system in breakrooms and common areas is still being used.
It's always good to have a little insurance around.Nope, we've got a local video game store that has that setup. It does dissuade some would-be thieves that it's next to the cashier, though...
Well, yes and no. FASA did have a License for the TOS series and the TOS feature films at the time. HOWEVER FASA management thought the license entitled them to be able to use the upcoming TNG material (it didn't); and they got their hands on the early TNG bible and some of the ORIGINAL (IE before the roles were cast) character write-ups - and released a TNG Sourcebook WELL BEFORE the first episode of TNG premiered.Wasn't it TNG that indirectly contributed to the downfall of FASA (where Axanar got its inspiration from) ??
He/they're doing it again? When will they get off their White Charger while claiming they speak for ALL fans? He definetely does NOT speak for me!Robert Meyer Burnett @BurnettRM 4h4 hours ago
" Well, AXANAR is in the middle of a court case fighting for it's survival. We're the only people now fighting for ALL fans. AXANAR is the only production FIGHTING for all fan films everywhere. And we continue to fight on. ALONE."
God save us all.
The thing that pisses me off about this is that there would be no fight if Alec Peters and his people hadn't gone and pissed in the pool.Robert Meyer Burnett @BurnettRM 4h4 hours ago
