I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but has Peters followed Burnett's shameless glomming on to the success of the completion, release and positive reception of Horizon in it?

Yes, he practically forces him to agree to let Axanar horn in on his next project.

Seeing as we're talking about ID - anybody notice how Khan roll's his eyes and has a look of disbelief when Kirk tells him how he did the aerojump in the previous film?

Even a madman would seemingly not do that...!
Yeah. I thought that was quite funny, especially how uncomfortable Kirk acted when he realized he was rambling on. Although I thought the look was more of a WTF moment for Kahn. I also liked how quickly he got himself and Kirk refocused.

For what it's worth and waaaaaaay off topic, STID is my new favorite Trek movie of them all. [Gets up, runs to the door and hurries out of the room.]

To me, reading the review of the leaked "Axanar" script, it read like something that wanted to tell a story of an event without realizing the best stories do that by humanizing the event through focusing on how the events affect and change the protagonist. I don't want a documentary on Eisenhower planning D-Day, I want "Saving Private Ryan". But that's just me. YMMV. Opinion void in Nebraska and states where taxed. If the opinion lasts more than four hours, seek medical help. I am a non-lawyer, paid opinion spokesperson. If redness or itching should occur, these could be signs that the opinion has become infected.

That ain't just you. You're bang on. Don't tell the story of a battle by playing out some kind of Command and Conquer in Space. Tell it from the effect of the war on the people you've made your audience care about. Trek was normally fairly good at that.

Oh my god guys. I'm not even ten minutes in:

BURNETT:
Look, we didn't give ourselves the money, our donors gave us the money--

PETERS:
Right.

BURNETT:
--and we've always tried to service our donors by being open, and honest, and providing the best perks you can get. I--I'll hold up our Prelude to Axanar Blu-Rays as the best, produced--

PETERS:
It's as good as any STAR TREK Blu-Ray that's--

BURNETT:
Absolutely.

PETERS:
It's better than a lot of Blu-Rays you see on the market!

BURNETT:
Absolutley! And we could have put a Blu-Ray in a paper sleeve and sent it to our donors but we didn't.

PETERS:
'Cause quality is important to us and where we are, we are very fortunate to have such wonderful donors who have allowed us to help, you know, to move this dream along. Which fortunately, almost all-- you know, they buy in to. Donors are wonderful and they believe in what we believe in and support us and they give us the energy in not just the financial ability but the energy and enthusiasm to keep going and we thank you all for that and, and what you the fans have done has been to enable us to build a team that includes great professionals like Mike Mory, and Erin and Andrew over at Winston & Strawn. They were attracted to this project for the same reasons you as donors were attracted to this project and uh, you guys make us better, so uh, we wanna, we wanna thank you all, and uh, don't be frustrated if you don't hear a lot, but blame Mike Bawden 'cause he's the one muffling us.

I mean... these idiots are laying out everything for CBS to come after them. It's a laugh riot!

Listening to the podcast...
1.) They have two PR directors but they let Alec talk way too much.
2.) "Love letter" - Where was the last time we heard that with Star Trek?
3.) It would be nice if we could actually understand Mike on the phone.
4.) So sick of Alec's name dropping. ("Top 25 IP firms." Lawyers saying "I want to help with this case!")
5.) "Didn't know her ass from her elbow." Oh, go away, Alec.
6.) YOU'RE NOT A LAWYER, ALEC! I work with lawyers on a daily basis. You don't have the professionalism to be a lawyer. You don't have an active license. You have never practiced. You insult my friends who ARE real lawyers. JUST STOP!
7.) "Alec & Rob ducktape." Sure. Right. Believe it when it happens.
8.) Oh, its a fan film again, huh?
9.) Way to plug the perks again, guys.
10.) "You guys make us better" WITH YOUR MONEY!
11.) CBS has no guidelines for fanfilms. No, they don't. But there are unspoken rules.

Try "These are the Voyages."
