To be fair, I was basically saying it seemed to me they were waisting money... So I kind of get someone popping up and defending the production.. but what I have seen, is when they run out of excuses, and can't offer rational for their actions, they just attack the questioner, label them a troll or hater, and move on.
It is. In the case of the production of a fan film, it's supposed to be basically recreational. As others have observed, it really seems like inappropriate conflation has occurred in the project between occupation and recreation, which is part of the basis of the lawsuit.

If I ran into him panhandling on the street I'd give him maybe five. So you've got ten dollars worth of upset coming to you IMO.
The thing is, had they just owned the mistakes, I would have been like, meh, whatever.. Had they said, Yes we have greatly increased the scope of the film.. Yes we are spending A LOT more money than what we originally told fans.. Had they just owned their decisions, instead of assigning blame (Building falling through, actors wanting 15K and dropping out)... I would have just said, Meh, and probably ignored them...but when they all out my donation amount.... something about that, just gave me a certain indignant feeling...
I think that virtually all of us - whether we previously were fans/supporters/lovers of Axanar or not - have modified our view of Alec Peters since the lawsuit was announced. His subsequent actions may have guaranteed that his fans are zealous, but it has also guaranteed that his fans will never be numerous.
He may be in the streets if he continues to stick with Alec like he is (Doe defendants yet to be named) . People need to watch out for the well being of themselves and their families, that comes first and foremost.
I still don't know if I believe there was a real threat. Some people will do anything to make their case/point.
That is a very stupid post. @oswriter has been consistent, accurate, and most importantly neutral with both his blog posts and his posts on this site.
He has demonstrated that he adheres to a standard of journalism that is becoming harder and harder to find.
Casting aspersions on his comments and experiences and implying that he is somehow seeking attention is ridiculous.
Sooo... Are you suggesting that the person who threatened Skip was trying to make a point or that Skip was trying to make a point?
So blaming the victim is your angle then?
Skip is a professional blogger, a legal blogger at that, who is within the legal industry and has written pieces for Mises, and Reason... I don't think he would make that up...
If you had been reading Oswriter's posts and his blogs (before he felt the need to take them down) you would have found him to be a reasonable and thoughtful poster. In his posts and blogs he made his points very well and clearly, citing case law and giving examples.
What makes you think he would need to lie to make his point?
I think you are perhaps jumping to conclusions without any facts (or at the very least, experience with Oswriter) to back it up.
Blaming the victim is easier than doing research and thinking things through.
In a very short time, Oswriter gained a lot of fans for his thoughts and perspectives--backed up by lots of support/evidence.
Convincing any us that he is lying about a threat... I think that's going to be a most impossible task.
