But what will it prove Skip wrong about? Perhaps just that he couldn't find a lawyer who would work Pro Bono. Maybe there's some masochist out there. A cousin or ex-girlfriend something.

I just hope he makes his "announcement".........lately they have become like filming.......always delayed.

I was once threatened online by an ebay buyer in a "no so dissimilar way" and I asked a police officer friend what to do. He said I could file a report with the police, consult a lawter, etc-- and get into a big legal quagmire-- or I could just not respond and in all likelihood he would stop on his own.

I chose option #2 and he was on the money: within a week he stopped emailing and calling and it's been about 7 years since without a peep, so perhaps OSW just wants to make it go away. It sucks because the guy gets what he wants, but sometimes that's not the worst thing.

Yup. And please don't interpret my "I would be impressed" for actually believing that his announcement will be anywhere close to that earthshattering.

I agree with @SuperSpaceMan -- he probably found a lawyer, and thinks the case is now won.

I'm not sure I'd believe the sky was blue if he made the announcement.

I don't know what Skip is, professionally, since I don't know him. Perhaps he's not a "legal journalist." But he's certainly more than "just a blogger." And really, why is that relevant? Deflection!

Stipulation extending time to answer has been filed.

Answer now due on Feb 22, 2016. Attorney Erin R. Ranahan representing (with Winston & Strawn). They are a large, well-known firm, FYI.

I'll see where I can host the file, but it's just a 2-page stipulation and really doesn't say anything more than what I've noted herein.

-- edit -- I hosted it in the I Stand With CBS group but it's really not much to look at.

Is the upcoming announcement a pay-per-view event? Or will it be hidden in a blog post about them redoing the sidewalks at Ares Studios?

I've never met Alec either. I don't know much about his history. For all I know he's a great, nice guy. So here's my advice to you, Alec:

If you think you're in the right-- if you believe strongly that you'll win the day in court-- if you think that every naysayer is wrong-- IGNORE THEM.

Because if you REALLY are right, then nothing your doubters say will matter. Ignore them, do your thing, win the day and shove it in their faces, mine included. Maybe we are the ones who are wrong.

As they say in sports, the best response is on the field. Don't respond to "haters." Play ball and hit a home run.

Here comes another Kickstarter!

So, he got a lawyer and an extension. Interesting. Will keep watching
