True. If anybody can pull defeat from the mouth of success, you can bet AP is the one to do it.

Mostly, I'm venting today. Last night I said that I'd believe the suit is dropped when it comes from the plaintiffs or L&L
I agree, when a formal official announcement is made by CBS/P and or L&L is when I'll believe it.

So? It's better to consider that 1% than write them off as not worth anything. Everyone counts.
Yes.
When you do the math, a business considers the majority. But the majority they consider is their shareholders, not the fans. You make it sound like they owe us something. Nope. They only owe their shareholders.

I'd say "I'm done posting about this", but somehow, I don't think it will be true.
See, I said I probably wasn't done :nyah:

Think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

I can't believe that Lin knows what kind of con artist that Peters is.
I'd thought of perhaps tweeting him the AxaMonitor site so he could read about Peters' history with other fans, but then I realized that's not my place. If Lin actually knew what kind of a shyster and generally reprehensible human being Peters is, I'm pretty sure his support for Axanar would vanish overnight.

AP using his notoriety to schmooze with people so they defend him is, ummm, nauseating. Excuse me, I'm off to the Sick Bay. Or the toilet, if I can find one on this blasted starship.

It just boggles the mind that CBS would settle. I really don't understand what the upside for them is?

There's some question as to whether or not JJ has force CBS' hand in this, by getting Paramount to agree to settle, thus undercutting CBS' support. Sure CBS could continue to sue, but it costs 50% more for them to fight this on their own. It's also possible that Paramount could license fans rights that CBS doesn't, so fan films are fan-licensed films not fan-licensed TV.

Remember, it's CBS and Paramount's case. They're suing on behalf of the join works they control. I'm guessing CBS doesn't want to just sue on behalf of the works -they- control, thus giving Axanar new grounds to chip away at the case.

Fun and interesting, no?

Donald Trump near the presidency and copyright no longer matters... definitely a weird world we're living in.

Off to make some money writing an unlicensed Star Trek book. Amazon will sell anything.
