Help us fund the Axanar full-length feature film by purchasing Axanar Coffee. A portion of the sales price goes directly to the film-makers of Axanar

Why would ever say it goes to the film-makers? It should say a portion of the sales prices is gets donated to help fund the Axanar Production.

Also there is no copyright acknowledgements at the bottom of the page for CBS since they show Star Trek images on the site.

According to Peters on Facebook, the film isn't even cast yet, (although filming is set to begin in February) and he says that's completely normal.... So.. now with a potential injunction hanging over the head of the production, I don't see anyone trying out...

Although I notice the facebook still claims that Tony Todd will be in it...

So does their ongoing fundraising drive on Indiegogo!

They're not the only ones venturing into merch. This one from Renegades failed its Kickstarter, but it also looked really tacky as far as piggybacking off the Trek IP and tiptoeing around it in a way that telegraphs they know they're on shaky ground.

So I don't think it's entirely fair to single out Axanar on this front.

Best thing Axanar's team could do right now (and they won't do it) is turtle up and shut up. Shutdwon all campaigns, all websites, all social-network pages/accounts. Just put out a vague, "We are working with CBS to address their concerns and will update backers and fans in the future as to the result and nature of any agreement", or something like that, then shut the fuck up. All their doing righ tnow is making Paramount's and CBS's job a lot easier.

Beyond Renegades, which has lots of merchandise (though not quite as much as Axanar), are there other Star Trek fan films doing this?

Michelle Specht sells signed photos of her in Trek garb. At one time the STAR TREK name was right on the photos as if she's equivalent to an official Trek veteran actress like Nichelle Nichols or (the late) Grace Lee Whitney.

It's small-potatoes, sure, but it struck me as tacky/exploitive that the only photos she has to sell are her in Trek. I'm assuming the one where she's under the sheets sells the best, for obvious reasons.

I really like Continues and don't want it taken down, but I wish they wouldn't let this stuff go to their heads to this extent.
