It's easy to blame the mark for falling prey to a grifter, but I don't (and I don't think you really do either). They want to believe, so he takes advantage. It's all on him.
You ever realize something is taking over your life?
I just stepped back from all Axanar "hater" groups on Facebook. I'm still going to hang out here but realizing how much those groups were eating up my time and how much I just didn't give a fuck about Alec making or not making Axanar anymore brought me to the realization:
- Alec will keep being Alec
- Teh ROb will keep waiting for Beer 30
- Lane will continue his blogs about BIG WINS for AXANAR because ALEC PETERS was nice to JADEN!!!
- Dave will keep being Hubcap Dave.
- Steven Mayhew will probably keep doing his "blog"
- Mike Bawden will continue his "spin"
- The supporters who haven't come to see Peters for what he is? Well, they're probably not going to at this point. Unless Alec really pisses them off personally
- Shawn O'Halloran will keep being the "true villain" in the eyes of the Axafaithful (and I'll continue to respect his stance)
- @carlosp will keep endearingly pining after TampAxanar (and will continue the fire of the ¡League of Ryans!)
- @jespah will keep being our Madame Chief Justice (and we'll love her for it)
- Terry and Christian will continue to be the scapegoats (and we won't believe that to be true)
- And MAYBE Axanar will be made!
- And MAYBE it'll be alright!
- And MAYBE the Axafaithful will be vindicated!
- And MAYBE they won't
Okay, some of those probably won't happen.
My point is: There are more important things in this world and there's nothing I can do to change what's left of this situation. So I'll be watching and chiming in on occasion. But right now, family, life, potentially having a JOB in my new town? (Moved for the wife's career.) Far more important than Alec Peters... for me. It's been a nice distraction but it's time to move along.
I hear you. This is coming from the person who many years ago created a BSG prop forum just because all of the people from Propworx were going to ditch Alec's forum because he was a hostile POS...While it is tiring, I cannot stand by while he does this. Fandom after fandom. This thread isn't 1500 pages because Alec is the "greatest Trek fan evar!!"

You're good man Charlie Brown. I know we'll see ya 'round.Totally get it. I was talking to someone today about this and they indicated they'd started to realize that things were burning just fine on their own. They were right. Alec is moving his sets to Atlanta. The status of Industry Studios is tenuous at best. Alec is getting downright nasty in his posts and as I have seen, this is a sign that his current plan is failing. RMB may have walked away. Alec says the actors are onboard but can it be believed? And would the actors speak to it? And even if they were onboard, the settlement came in January. A 30 page rough draft script doesn't take three months to write, so where's the script? The most transparent fan film has become an enigma. And from an outside perspective, it seems like it's crashing and burning.
It's just at the moment, there's nothing I see that can be done. He has burned his bridges in this fandom and there is so much anti-Alec/anti-Axanar stuff out there in the ether, anyone who doesn't do his or her research? I can't say I feel sorry if they get burned. If I see something, I'll send them to Axamonitor and tell them to read up before they donate money. I just don't see what I can ACTIVELY do at the moment that'll do any good.
And, ya know, life.

I quit following the Axanar FB page quite a while ago. I figure someone will let me know if LFIM ever apologizes for being a dick, admits the whole thing was a scam and offers to give everyone their money back. Until then, I'm sure they will get along quite well without me.
We'll send out the pie signal if we need you.I'll never be too far.![]()
So Industry Studios IGG campaign ended with just over $22,000 dollars.
