Also, Interlude is being touted as an "Axanar" fan film. No, it's a Star Trek fan film. The sooner AP realizes that Axanar is not separate from Star Trek, the better things will go for him.
I'd like to see them make an Axanar fan film devoid of Star Trek elements:Also, Interlude is being touted as an "Axanar" fan film. No, it's a Star Trek fan film. The sooner AP realizes that Axanar is not separate from Star Trek, the better things will go for him.
He should take a page from David Gerrold and just craft his own universe. Also, Interlude is being touted as an "Axanar" fan film. No, it's a Star Trek fan film. The sooner AP realizes that Axanar is not separate from Star Trek, the better things will go for him.
Astonishing, yes. I'm not sure I see anything positive about it.donations have crossed "half-way point" at $32K. Positively astonishing...
You mean by filing the serial numbers off a Heinlein story? He should take a page from David Gerrold and just craft his own universe.
I was referring to his "Voyage of the Star Wolf" series, which had serial numbers filed off of the Kzinti (sp?) but sure, that too.You mean by filing the serial numbers off a Heinlein story?
"Craft."He should take a page from David Gerrold and just craft his own universe.
Yeah, and whose Kick Stater attempts (two of them) never even came close to funding -- those after he pitched it all around Hollywood, and never got an Exec or Studio to bite.I was referring to his "Voyage of the Star Wolf" series, which had serial numbers filed off of the Kzinti (sp?) but sure, that too.
Eh...ok, that's a good point.Yeah, and whose Kick Stater attempts (two of them) never even came close to funding -- those after he pitched it all around Hollywood, and never got an Exec or Studio to bite.
So, yeah, Alec learne A LOT from working with Gerrold. He learned if you want fools to give him money - "Star Trek" has to be part of the pitch.
Were there two? I only ever saw one,* and it reeked of "minimal effort".Yeah, and whose Kick Stater attempts (two of them) never even came close to funding -- those after he pitched it all around Hollywood, and never got an Exec or Studio to bite.

Note this is for the shoulder patch. The chest patches will be available soon!
Ares Studios is offering the USS Artemis patch for $11 via Paypal to aresstudiosatl@gmail.com. Patches will ship Monday.
I have a feeling CBS will just let this go (from AP's latest e-mail):
Alec Peters wrote in said e-mail:
Jeez, I doubt the settlement said: "You are authorized to continue to sell unlicensed Star Trek related merchandise.
I really wonder what it will take for CBS to pull the trigger, declare Alec Peters in Breach an call for binding arbitration?
The CBS/Paramount/Viacom mess has no doubt been the 800 pound gorilla for Ms Redstone and co. for quite some time. However, at some point, I don't doubt that someone in that particular empire will look up, realize what FLIM is up to and swat him like an annoying bug. As the Russian proverb goes "rattling a sword makes noise. Drawing one does not." I would not take the silence as a sign that nothing is happening. At some point the Sword of Damocles will drop and LFIM will be standing on a street corner with a hand written sign that says "will produce REAL Star Trek for money."You have this corporate ball of yarn known as National Amusements which over the years have maintained majority voting shares in all their subsidies such as Cbs, MTV,Viacom, Paramount (well, it's a long list).
Shari Redstone has spent the last year working on reuniting all these factions back under one umbrella (National Amusements)
The great lawyer in training pants already beat the snot out of CBS (J/K) and forced them to provide guidelines for the fan film community. He then without barely missing a beat continued the same behavior that sparked the whole court ordeal in the first place.
Makes me wonder if all the corporate boards are too busy to notice or what they will do once this whole Axanar activity reaches the end of their rope.
That's probably the best script he has come up with in a long time.Today's edition of "Guess The Script":
AP
I ain't your partner, I'm your

in your hands, and I'm producing
all this under the nose of CBS.
That makes me your producer, and
producers get fifteen percent.
DONORS
Producers get ten percent.
AP
That's an agent. Producers get
fifteen percent.
DONORS
We'll give ya ten.
AP
Plus the same deal as before.
DONORS
We can do that.
They clink their glasses together.
Interlude is filming this Saturday, which also happens to be my birthday. Not that the two events are connected in any way.
