Considering that this letter was concerned about the mention of 'an independent Star Trek film' and funding issues, which was most of the main thrust of the lawsuit, what was in the other eight letters?

If they think doing an audioplay is easy, they will be quickly disillusioned.from https://www.11alive.com/article/ent...o-atl/85-6bf73f2e-f487-44cc-95ab-21cef3315311
"Now two additional “Axanar” episodes are in production and will shoot in Atlanta in October. In addition to the film, the actors will be recording the audiobook of the full two-hour script."
I'd say what was very successful with regard to Prelude, even though it was derivative, is that it functioned well as an extended trailer and sold people on the idea of Axanar as being this incredible story waiting to be told.Aside from the sdesign of the U.S.S. Ares there was very little original in Prelude (Hell, the entire war story setup was lifted whole hog from a FASA Star Trek RPG Sourcebook and come on, there WAS NO REAL STORY HERE. It was a bunch of talking heads in front on greenscreens aping faux military tactic speeches in the style of any WWII/Vietnam/etc. war documentary where they have vets talk about a battle.
the idea of Axanar (from Prelude) was alwaysgoing to be better than what the eventual movie would've been - (much like the Alien and Star Wars and Terminator prequels) - sometimes things hinted/glimpsed at are better left to be in the imagination than explored fully in a movie.I'd say what was very successful with regard to Prelude, even though it was derivative, is that it functioned well as an extended trailer and sold people on the idea of Axanar as being this incredible story waiting to be told.
We've seen the final script and know it was a steaming pile, if Peters wasn't a grifter and Axanar had actually been made, I'd bet most of the ardent fans would probably have been disappointed that it didn't live up to their expectations, and it would already be largely forgotten by now.
I'm sure they are spamming every email address that they have ever acquired..........
But there's a problem, and it's a theory I've put forward before and take the opportunity to do so again. The problem with saying "just let him make the films" is that he never wanted to make a film. That was never his goal. What he wanted was to turn "Prelude" into a money-making venture that lived on past just making the feature film.
Or Uncle Rico.LFIM just loves the attention. He really is like the high school athlethe who wants to relive the glory days of prelude.
He honestly is Al "4 touchdowns in one game" Bundy
One day, there's going to be a documentary about all this. It won't be made by Alec Peters and it won't paint him in a positive light.
Then you must have LOVED Star Trek Into Darkness because that's where Tobias Rhicther copied the composition of a majority of his ship effects shots from. Aside from the sdesign of the U.S.S.
It wasn a VFX fest (again lifted for the most part from Star Trek Into Darkness) with a few easter eggs.
If he wanted the post-Prelude glory and accolades again, easiest way would have been to release another film to GET glory and accolades. Agree he's still chasing the high, and the ex-high school QB that still thinks about it but can't DO it is an apt analogy.
Of course, he got into trouble when he tried to parlay it into a funding stream and business instead of doing what got him there in the first place.
It sounds like they started shooting before funding was in place. If so, that strikes me as bass-ackwards, but maybe I'm missing something.Fund raising for Axanar has begun. Got an unsolicited email today.
