...And I still, still, do not understand why its taking this long to...
This is not aimed at you so much as every instance of some form of this question re Axanar.

There's nothing to understand. He. Doesn't. Care. He only does what tickles his fancy or the minimum of what he think he has to to keep the cash machine going.

There's no logic here, no reasons, just AP being AP.

Okay. Just making sure. Almost slipped there...thanks for walking me back.

Part 2 : Let there be pie : that was typical wasn't that : too many subtitles to keep track of...

How long until he's filming out of a shoe box ?
- We had to downgrade due to lack of funds -

For instance the Section 31 show with rag-tag rouge agents, and even in the Picard show , the crew is a bunch of misfists and people with issues. So who is to say Renegades did not have some impression on them. :)

Although a rag-tap bunch of discarded Starfleeters in a non-Starfleet vessel was essentially the premise of Star Trek III, and also one of the possibilities floated before "Enterprise" was announced as a TV series.

Up-to-date contact information is worth more in a sale to a third party?
Ding ding ding!

It's a behavior which suits several purposes:
  • Up to date contact info is more valuable for a sale (and I am quite sure there are no assurances, anywhere, that your personal info wouldn't be shared or sold by AP) @drt
  • AP being AP, doing the barest minimum @Maurice
  • Clear out junk so it doesn't have to be boxed, shipped, and stored @Daddy Todd
And... delay some more, hold onto $$ a bit longer before paying postage for thousands (IIRC) trinkets, thereby potentially earning more interest or at least maintaining a necessary minimum balance for some perk or another (e. g. my bank ups your interest rate for savings if you keep X dollars in savings). Also, inertia, not wanting to do the dog work of stuffing envelopes and heading to the PO, work which used to be done by Diana Prime, but oops, she's on the other side of the country, no longer affiliated, and is dating someone else.

And finally, it keeps the faithful hanging on just a little bit longer. Because once they get satisfaction, a lot of them will bail.

So let us pause for a musical interlude. Hit it - Much More Famous Diana – and Mary and Flo and Cindy!

Contacted IndieGogo customer support. They have no record of my contribution from way back. I wonder if any of the Ares Digital stuff transferred over to them (where I was registered). Sigh...looks like it's lost forever. Typical. :(

You sure your contribution wasn't to the Axanar Kickstarter?

Yeah, after doing some digging through my email and credit card archives, it was definitely a Kickstarter donation, posted on August 14, 2014. I guess I was under the mistaken impression that all records from previous donations would be migrated to the new system so they could keep track of all donors for the perk deliveries. Silly me! Looks like that contribution is gone forever. At least I found the record of it on my old credit card statement, but I suppose AP is going to hold true to his bald-faced lie (shocker!) that all previous perks were shipped out. Oh, well... I guess I should consider the ensuing dumpster fire for the past half-decade to be entertainment and payback enough.

It's a shame you have to take it that way, though. It isn't what you expected for your money, and it's debatable whether watching AP and Axanar flail around is adequate compensation.

Aside from the movie itself (Blu-ray or DVD), what Kickstarter perks have you not received that other people have?

Just the BRD of Prelude and the patch. Those were the only two things that were associated with the contribution tier I made ($75) that I can recall.

From the article:
"[...]Defendants did not copy verbatim text from Go! in writing Boldly, nor did they replicate entire illustrations from Go! Although Defendants certainly borrowed from Go! — at times liberally — the elements borrowed were always adapted or transformed. The Court therefore concludes, as it did previously that Defendants’ work, while commercial, is highly transformative."
Applied to this situation, the judge says Dr. Seuss can claim copyright protection "in the unique, rainbow-colored rings and tower on the cover of Go!" but not "any disc-shaped item tilted at a particular angle."
Seems well reasoned to me. The text of the book primarily borrowed the style of Dr. Seuss' books rather than the actual words, and the illustrations, while having similarity in their broad layout, mostly contained depictions of Star Trek rather than characters and settings specific to Dr. Seuss. It's consistent with how Apple couldn't prevail on "look and feel" lawsuit against Microsoft. It would seem to me that CBS always had a much better chance of prevailing in a copyright lawsuit like this than Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
