What really frosts me is that Slow Lane sees absolutely nothing wrong with this! He's like: "Goody Gumdrops! Can I and all your sycophants help you bilk the public some more, Alec? Huh? Huh? Can we???" And Alec goes all Francis Urquhardt (look up that reference, kids!) and says "You might think that, but I would never say it."

And still - STILL - there are people actually giving him money!

$150-200,000 to make the 30 min Axanar film.
$4,000 a month to pay the studio rent, so $48,000 a year.

Two amounts to be raised even though previously $1.5 million raised. Plus Prelude cost $100,000. I know I should be immune at this point but nearly $1.8 million to produce a fan film still staggers me. And not a lot to show for it...
Please, they got tires and sushi!

. I don't recall what the budgets per episode were for NV or STC, but if he'd been willing to let them lead the production side with Gossett directing, Axanar would have had at least four films made.
50K at the beginning and about 80K for the last STC episodes. That is why it is so appalling the money that LFIM has wasted. Well, I guess if you are just in for the con it makes more sense

I never gave to the NV or STC or any other fan film, but if i'd had; i'd be able to say what my money's going to. They had sets built out, they had shown the ability to make stuff and had poured tons of their own money into these projects. Alec keeps claiming he's put thousands of dollars of his own money into it....but he's got no sets, aside from one bridge that he doesn't plan to film in. No idea if it even pulls apart like he claimed it would back in 2015. He's got two minutes of film, aside from Prelude which was successful despite him.
He's got a track record of wasting money, and nothing to show for the 1.5 already raised. NOTHING.

Shawn is gonna have a field day!

Nearly $1.8 million raised to feed the ego of a charlatan and fund his pretend Hollywood producer lifestyle. Not a dime has or will go to making an actual film.

So... Crowdfunding by proxy? Hows does Lane expect to get that amount from a dwindling Axanar fan base? Unfortunately Alec will always have a few true believers that even the Ark of Truth can breaks free of Alec's 'CON'fluence.

Speaking of which, lets build our own 'Ark of Truth' . I recommend Carlos constructing a detailed, but not to long, summary of what Alec has done with the Axanar debacle over the past few years and put it on Axamonitor. This summary will contain links to all the separate subject articles on Axamonitor. It can be called 'The Axanar Truth' (or something like that) . The link to that page, will be the 'one' link everyone can give to someone that is going to (or has already) donate to Alec (if you know who they are). You may ask, why not just tell them to go to Axamonitor.com? Because Axamonitor is a pretty content rich site with many articles, you need something short and concise to draw people in. From that summary, they can then choose to explore further. 'The Axanar Truth' link can then be spread everywhere.

People need to know what they are getting into, but many don't want to do detailed due diligence. If we give them one concise summary of the past few years as a 'simple' starting point, that may help.

How much is Lane getting paid?

Speaking of producing stuff, RMB released another reel of effects for the doomed project:

15:05 final render, no commentary

The design of the Ares confuses me. It's meant to pre-date the Connie right? So why does the saucer look like it came out the TMP era? The bridge dome and the phaser emitters are right out of the 2270s as well. The only thing that signifies TOS era are the nacelles, and even then they look more advanced than the Connie's.

For the Connie in Prelude to Axanar, it looks like they kept it basically the same design right from TOS.
