But it's clearly heard as Axanar in "Court Martial"...

I tried to find that scene on YouTube, and couldn't find it, so thanks for that!

Even before FASA did their supplements that inspired Peters, I've always heard Axanar in both episodes, so the SNW screenshot is a typo.

    EDIT:
Plus, didn't they use the planet and its inhabitants in the "Enterprise" episode "Fight or Flight"?

Have we seen an onscreen spelling for Axanar/Axinar ahead of this?

I don't think so, but I stand ready to be corrected. :)

Why? To solicit more donations, of course!

Obviously it’s another fan fleecing. The implied question is: Why is anyone dumb enough to keep falling for it?

A crewmember from that episode could appear in Picard...

Do we think someone can be conned into replicating/finishing what Tobias Richter planned, before they were leaked by Burnett? They were cool, remember? ;)

Deliberate misspelling to put distance between CBS Trek and Peters shit?

That’s my belief. Hit AP where it hurts — brand recognition. He’s been stealing off of Trek IP for almost a decade based on a planet barely referenced. If they didn’t spell it onscreen, that’s an easy way to nip it in the bud.

I still think the way to do it was to make the Ares a garbage scow.

"Laddie, don't you think you should rephrase that?"

"You're right, I should. I didn't mean to say that it should be hauling garbage. I meant to say that it should be hauled away as garbage."

Naaah, definitely think it would be hilarious if one of the shows just dropped in a reference to a garbage scow named the Ares. LFIM would fume.

Number One fell into step with her captain as they headed back to the bridge from lunch. "By the way, we received a message from the Ares; an invitation to some sort of celebration."

Pike stopped in mid-stride and shook his head. "The Ares. Have you ever met their captain?" Pike couldn't bring himself to say the name. Number One shook her head to indicate she had not. Pike began walking again, "The man is a walking contradiction. Book-smart, full of arrogance and hubris, and yet utterly incompetent. He got lucky in battle once, so now he has the Admiralty thinking he's the greatest officer to ever serve in Starfleet. It's a miracle he didn't get his whole crew killed."

Number One wisely changed the subject to discuss upcoming crew evaluations.
