AXACON TICKETS SLASHED Faced with Axanar fans’ ticket price complaints, sluggish sales and thousands of dollars in losses, OWC Studios head Alec Peters announced a 40-percent cut in Axacon’s cost of entry in November, the brunt of which hurts proceeds intended for the event’s host, SphinxCon. Meanwhile, Peters can’t commit to whether the bridge set he’s spending thousands more to complete in time for the con will even appear in Axanar Lite. Read more »

Perhaps he should consider having an Axanar fan "reception" at some place that doesn't require an long drive from the ACTUAL convention.

Wait, they're not holding Axacon at the same location as Sphinxcon?
I get what you're saying, but having already read the article they're citing, I can sorta understand where they're coming from, even if I don't necessarily agree.
I guess I could kind of see this time, but I point was more about the fact that it seems like every interview I've read with Peters he manages to work Carlos into the discussion, even when he has absolutely nothing to do with what's being discussed.

They HAVE to as Alec is ALWAYS THE VICTIM!

Some of it is but if you want the bridge tour and the reception at Alec's house you have to drive about an hour away from the con.

I don't know what I find scarier, that they're offering the tour, or that there might actually be people out there in Axafan land that might actually do it.

Pay for the privilege of touring an incomplete bridge set for a fan film?
Why would anyone do that? Seriously. Why?

And a set that may or may not be in the actual film (if it ever gets made).

It would be one thing if it was nearby but if you are not familiar with atlanta, the sphnixcon is near the airport on the south side of town. The "studio" is a northern subburb of atlanta. Driving accross atlanta on a friday? oh good god that is painful. And since the con isn't prividing transportation if you are from out of town good luck. You'd be looking at probably $50-60 one way for Uber. Just ran it. UberX $53.60 one way. 40-50 miles depending in route and right now would take 1 hour 15 minutes to get there ONE WAY.

I have a friend who moved to Atlanta for a year (to be with her boyfriend, until they broke up). She said driving in that city is painful no matter what time of day / week it is!!!! :censored:

Well if you read the report from Axamonitor, Axacon tickets aren't selling well. Peters already cut the price. ;)
Oh no, I don't think my poor sensitive heart can stand such a shock!:nyah:

Holy shit, they actually expect people to make that kind of a trip on their own?

I'm thinking the SphinxterCon folks thought that Lord Precious would bring in a ton more ticket sales to their little party -- influenced, I'm sure, by a sales pitch from none other than "Himself."

Whoops. :techman:
