CBS 2009-2010 schedule announced

I still don't understand why they're setting the new NCIS show in Los Angeles. Are there even any Navy installations in LA? They're like an hour away from San Diego, why not set it there? :wtf:

Yes!! HIMYM is renewed!!!

I don't think it was ever in any danger despite the radio silence. If it had been cancelled, I would have thrown the largest temper tantrum on Earth.

I don't take any chances with my favourite shows. I've lost too many good ones over the years. Until it gets CSI like numbers I'll continue praying to the Neilson's deities every night the show is on.

Jazzed as I am to see the totally hawt and very funny Jenna elfman back on the tube, I am unhappy to see Big Bang Theory pushed into a time slot opposite Heroes on NBC.

muttermuttergrumblebitchmoan....

What a whole lotta nothing. I was vaguely interested in Back, but that one didn't make it. No CBS for me again this year. :D

I'm so tired of shows in New York and LA. I realize it's easy for them as far as productions go, but it's so boring.

Wow. I hadn't ever realized that CTV here in Canada is basically CBS with all the big reality shows (aside from Survivor). CBS even airs Flashpoint, which is actually a CTV original.

Well, it's sort of incidental. CTV has more money than Global, so they can basically cherry pick all the high rated shows - the majority of which happen to be CBS shows. I mean, they COULD drop Lost but instead they relegated it to the crappy local network channel that no one has and replaced it with Idol.
Hell, even their Thursdays are basically made up of the highest rated shows - Survivor, CSI, Grey's.
If it weren't for Idol, they'd probably snatch up NCIS for Tuesdays as well. But hell, Idol and Law and Order are basically the big winners for that night, so that's where they've put their money.

Now, if it wasn't for Canadian simulcasts, CTV would probably just buy every show altogether and dump the "lower" rated shows like NCIS or House on Saturdays and leave Global with nothing. :p

Global has Survivor, but yeah, what you say makes sense. I didn't pay much attention to what show aired on what Canadian networks until I actually started working at CTV and realized all the shows I liked to watch, aside from Lost, were on Global. :p

CTV primetime is a perfect storm of cop shows, dancing shows and karaoke shows.

Oh right, CTV has Private Practice after Grey's probably. I barely watch TV live, so it's hard to keep track.

Happy that Numbers is back. Pissed that The Unit was cancelled. I liked the preview of NCIS:LA, so I will give it a shot.

I can't believe that the NCIS spin-off features a character who is supposed to be a master of disguise and who 'becomes' any role he's meant to be playing - and he's PLAYED BY CHRIS O'DONNELL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not exactly known for his Day-Lewis/ Norton/ method acting and range, is he?!

Do they bother to write new scripts for Two and a Half Men, or do they just reuse old ones and change the bimbo the one guy fucks?

Joe, laugh-tracked

Well they have to write the new bimbo's name into the script.

I like the fact the show will be on so long that it will have to change the name to Three and a Half Men because the "kid" will be 29 when the show ends and weigh 405 pounds.

Holy shit. I'm looking forward to seeing NCIS: Los Angels coming this fall. It already got my attention and fell in love with it. Are we going to get another NCIS? I hope not.

Still surprised about Without a Trace. It got good ratings. I wonder if CBS is going to end up regretting that.

Glad none of the CSI shows are moving time slots. I was a little worried NY might shift to Tuesday or Thursday (after CSI). If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :p ;)

CBS cancelled two shows - Without a Trace and Eleventh Hour - that averaged over 11 million viewers this season. Only CBS is in a position to do such a thing.
