Riker: How did we know?

 

[LeadHead]

Crusher: Wait. Crusher to Sickbay.

 

[Vanyel]

Sickbay.
Ogawa: Sickbay here.

 

[LeadHead]

Crusher: (over comm) Is Commander La Forge there?

 

[Vanyel]

Ogawa: No Doctor, he’s not.
(The Sickbay doors open and in comes LaForge.)
Wait a minute, he just came in.

 

[LeadHead]

Later, after Geordi has been examined, Picard enters sickbay.

Picard: You wanted to see me, Doctor?

 

[Vanyel]

Crusher: Yes. Captain, have you been getting the feeling that you’ve experienced certain thing before? A sense of repetition?

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: Yes, recently. While I was reading, why do you ask?

 

[Vanyel]

Crusher: There have been similar incidents reported all over the ship. Feelings of déjà vu. I had a premonition Geordi was going to come into Sickbay. A few seconds later, he did, with the symptoms of an ear infection. I was going to run the standard tests but somehow I had a feeling that they would turn out negative. So I ran an optical diagnostic which traced the problem to Geordi’s VISOR. His dizziness is being caused by a phase shift in his visual recptors. It’s causing him to see images that aren’t there.

 

[LeadHead]

La Forge: They're like, blurry after-images.

 

[Vanyel]

Crusher: I ran a scan to see if I could detect what he was seeing. I picked up miniscule distortions in the surrounding Dekyon field. Somehow his VISOR is translating those distortions into visual impulses.

 

[LeadHead]

La Forge: Could be a malfunction in the ships Warp Field Generator. I'll check it out.

 

[Vanyel]

Picard: Run a localized subspace scan to look for anything else.

 

[LeadHead]

La Forge: Aye Sir.

La Forge leaves.

 

[Vanyel]

Picard: (to Crusher) Keep me advised.

 

[LeadHead]

Later in Crushers quarters, she is pacing around her room, can't read her book, or have her drink, and is still in uniform. Crusher remembers something from her glass and put it down on her bedside table. Crusher turns out the lights, the voices begin, Crusher uses her tricorder to record them, then turns the lights back on. The voices stop.

Crusher: Crusher to Commander La Forge.

LaForge: (Over the com.) LaForge here.

Crusher: Geordi, I just heard what sounds like voices in my room, but no one else is here.
