Catsicle

Important part here, the heart was still beating, so it had bloodflow, wasn't completely frozen.

It had a good heart rate, but was in a comatose state, she said.

I feel sorry for animals in this weather :(

took this pic yesterday afternoon just as the snow started to fall outside a Wal-Mart. Couple of us tried to catch the kitty and get her in the warmth, but she got away. Home (s)he found a warm place for the night.

Tonight I noted a young cat (probably only a year old or so) wandering around in my parking lot. After he saw me, he retreated to hide under a parked car. We've been hit pretty hard with snow for the last week, so either this guy is an outdoor cat taking a little stroll before going home or he's a stray that found a warm spot somewhere.

This happened to one of our Cats when I was about eight years old. One of the neighborhood kids buried Suki in a snowbank just to be mean. I managed to dig her out and brought her home, though she appeared to be dead. We put her on a blanket over one of the heat registers and she eventually came around. She became very affectionate after that.

Cats are survivors. IN 2003, our cat, Moocher, was out in the cold, had a nasty blister on his leg, and it froze in the cold, and it ruptured, exposing muscle....we had to sew him up ourselves, since it was late at night and the vet was not around.

He's still around and the leg healed nicely that winter. :D

I really hope you talked to that kid's parents. That's fucked up.

Or perhaps discreetly bury him somewhere, thus sparing the world a future serial killer. :rommie:

Well, I was eight years old, so I didn't talk to anybody about it; I believe my Mother spoke to his Aunt, who he lived with. And I wouldn't be surprised if this particular kid did move on to greater atrocities.

If it was my cat I think the kid's head would have seen the inside of a snowbank. :klingon:
