Castle season 8 discussion thread - spoilers

^I pretty much agree. Didn't know it was back, was just flipping channels. I watched up to them finding the hidden singing area and then just changed the channel.

I only knew it was back because my DVR is set to record every new episode, and for some reason we're getting new episodes on both Sunday and Monday this week.
As much as I'd love to stop watching, I have this weird thing where if I've invested so many seasons in a show, I have to watch it to it's conclusion regardless of how bad the show gets. Damn me, and my stupid brain.

Ah, Sheldon Syndrome.

Ah, Sheldon Syndrome.

Which brings to mind one of his quote;)
"They have to help the viewers let go. Firefly did a movie to wrap things up. Buffy the Vampire Slayer continued on as a comic book. Heroes gradually lowered the quality season by season till we were grateful it ended."

I'm more watching it out of habit now and because I like the cast. It has gone rather down hill (at least in my opinion too)

I didn't even realize it was back. Sounds like I'm better off not watching.

I haven't watched this season, but have been keeping up with this thread. I felt like I'm better off not watching, so I deleted all the episodes and canceled the series recording, thanks to the comments here. :)

There was an episode Sunday night! I wouldn't have known if i hadn't seen my DVR kick on and wonder what the hell it was recording.

Actually, a pretty good ep. Nice "save an innocent defendant" courtroom drama.

^^^ Yeah, I kind of liked last night's episode. Nothing over-the-top stupid, and pretty well done.

Basically nit-picking, but during Castle's cross examination, the defender addressed the jury, telling them how unreliable a witness Castle was. Just after that, Beckett asked the DA to help him, and he says he would if could. Thing is, he could have. The defender, by addressing the jury on the reliability of the witness, became unquestionably argumentative, which is objectionable.

Otherwise, very entertaining episode.

And a fun Old Cold Warrior plot Monday night. I'm glad they didn't forget that Beckett speaks Russian. Continuity is always appreciated.
His mother and daughter have become perfunctory at best.

I finally got around to watching last week's 'Saw' episode. It was entertaining, but the bad guy's logic in some of his actions just didn't make any sense. Last night's episode with the foreign language school was pretty weak, especially when they dredged up the whole missing 3 months thing again. Pearlmutter was great in his short scene.
Although every time Vikram pops up, I just assume that he's a bad guy working as a spy for evil generic corporation. I hope that it doesn't play out that way, but it just feels like it will.

Worst. Newcastle. Accent. Ever. Sounded more like a woeful attempt at an Irish accent.

Another Beckettless episode, but still decent nontheless. Always nice to have more Alexis.
And Summer Glau! Woohoo! :)
I still can't believe they're missing the possibilities of having Ron Glass on - Barney Miller was also set in the fictional 12th precinct. Having retired detective/novelist Ron Harris consult on an old case would be a natural for this show.

Not sure how I feel about the Total Recall gimmick with the prerecorded warning to himself.

Castle's lost time has been a giant failure. The first attempt to answer it was very underwhelming and nonsensical, and now this new spin isn't much better except to tie every plot together. It was clear that cliffhanger was written for shock value without any idea as to how to resolve it.

I saw Summer Glau was guesting so I had to take a look. Man, still disappointed at where this show has ended up.

And it failed to shock anyone. It was dreadfully predictable.
