Cue the chorus of tedious aholes telling anyone who has a complaint about new shows being used to launch a bunch of redundant streaming services that it's "only the cost of couple of lattes" and they should stop whining. Meanwhile, the streaming services get more and more Balkanized and costs go up for less content and fewer benefits provided.
Where did you see that? From what I saw on the website, it appears to be a one time fee, and they had all of the episodes of all 3 series and all 3 movies up to watch. The thing is though, it's $20 a year for just Stargate Origins and BTS videos for the various series. You get access to none of the other Stargate shows, or any MGM productions.
It's a twenty dollar app, to watch one show.

The website was down for me last night, it was from another page reporting on it.
A one off payment isn't so bad, but it's still only Stargate available? there doesn't seem much point to all this over just airing it on regular networks. Or releasing what's essentially a webisode mini-series for free like others of its kind.
I already have all of... on DVD. I have no need to sign up for a redundant streaming service for a prequel series that has no reason to exist. Had they offered something better it might be more tempting but nothing about this sounds like anything more than a blatant cash grab.
Production-design-wise, I'm glad they used the movie design for Catherine's Ra necklace. It was always weird and big when it showed up on SG-1. I'm a little more confused by why they're using the movie design for the 'gate itself. Well, mostly. It looks like the symbols on the inner ring are raised like they were in the series, and not recessed like the movie version.I guess I'll bump this thread and post the new behind the scenes video just released for Stargate Origins:
Their next project will explain the change in spelling between Kurt Russel and RDA's versions of O'Neil/O'Neill.It wouldn't surprise me if this web series explains why the stargate changed appearance between the movie and SG-1 pilot.
