To recast TNG, I'd rather it be the way Tiny Toon Adventures did it, with a new generation of corresponding characters. Hugh Laurie could play a nephew of Jean-Luc Picard and not have to put on an American accent, for example. And the Enterprise would be the 1701-G or H, Luna class or something new. Maybe Shiri Appleby could be Troi's daughter or something.
