My cast would probably be best fit for a post-Nemesis TNG movie.

I think that list is not-to-shabby. I could see Carrey doing wonders with the "emotion chip", team him with Eddie Murphy for comedy too. I originally wanted Allyson Hannigan, the cute redhead from American Pie movies, as Crusher, but that wouldn't work with age differences. And I've always wanted to see Val Kilmer and Jeff Bridges in a Star Trek movie. Alas, I probably wasted too much time thinking about this list but it was entertaining.

I'd go with an entirely new cast & characters. I don't see the point to going back down an already well-tread road. Why not go with Alec Baldwin ("The Shadow") or Joe Flanigan ("Stargate: Atlantis") as Captain Mackenzie Calhoun, C.O. of the Ambassador-Class U.S.S. Excalibur?
