Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

According to the Memory Alpha article on Bajoran Militia uniforms, red\maroon is command, brown\tan is security, and silver\grey is engineering and operations. I would assume he would wear red.

What about General Krim's commando team from "The Siege"? They all wore kind of purplish.

(If Rom is any indication, Bajoran engineer unis are light grey on top and a much darker blue/purple on the bottom.)

And I just remembered one other: Bashir's nurse wore a brown uniform with Royal blue across the middle. So perhaps that's what Bajoran medical officers always wear.

Yeah, the engineers did eventually start wearing green uniforms with grey shoulders, and medical wore yellow and tan, and then later purple and tan.
I had just included the standard duty uniforms, there are a whole bunch of different variants on the MA page.

I'm reading Fearful Symmetry right now and I cast JR Bourne as Cenn Desca.

Closer, but still too rugged and manly for my mental image.

I just watched Through the Looking Glass last night, and looked at the Mirror Bajoran officers again. We know that MU-Cenn survived Crossover to appear in Disavowed, so he might be one of those.

How about this guy: Patrick Barritt. He's a regular background performer and stuntman on all the series, and has played both an MU and RU Bajoran. He could maybe work.

In the same episode is this guy - a male servant of the Intendant. I couldn't quite tell if he was supposed to be Bajoran or human. If Bajoran, he could be the MU Hetik. If human (more likely), he could be MU Bowers. Sadly MA doesn't know the actor's name. Also, that doesn't fit with A Terrible Beauty, which says the Bowers was a slave somewhere else at this time and didn't come to Terok Nor till later. Damn it!

In researching that, I discovered that there was a real-life Sam Bowers who was a white supremacist and major KKK leader. That's... uncomfortable.

If it helps, that's Samuel Bowers, while the Treklit character is Samaritan Bowers.

Barritt looks like a fine choice but I have no familiarity with his voice or mannerisms, so casting him as Cenn doesn't work for me. I've seen JR Bourne in enough stuff to plug him into the role and imagine him as Cenn with no difficulty; just personal taste and preference, ultimately.

For the latest Seekers novel, I used Terence Stamp for the role of the Vulcan bridge officer (Sorek, I think?) based on David Mack's suggested casting and he worked out brilliantly.

I could see him as Hetik, but not Bowers. Pretty much from the time he was first introduced I've never pictured Bowers as anybody but Roger Cross, from 24, Continuum, The Strain, Arrow, and Dark Matter.

I'm sorry, if this has been discussed already. But I'm currently reading the Voyager relaunch novels. Who would be suited to play Janeway's sister Phoebe and her mother Gretchen. Or Julia, Moira and Kathleen Paris? I have to admit that Tom's sisters hardly apear. But I don't have any pictures of those characters in my head.

Any suggestions?

For a brief moment while reading Atonement, I pictured Jessica Walters as Julia Paris. But only for a moment!

I had settled on for my head-verse Barbara Barrie as Gretchen Janeway, kind of feisty, and fairly short if one would think daughter Kathryn takes after her stature wise. Also, was about the right age when Homecoming first came out. JMO of course!

I could see her being related to Janeway, but when I read String Theory I pictured "Phoebe" quite a bit younger than Janeway.

re George's comment above: Didn't David Mack name Unverzagt for a real Steven Unverzagt from US television or music or something? I remember seeing a photo that matched the description...

Anyway, I'm currently re-reading DS9 Mission Gamma Twilight and picturing a younger Sissy Spacek as Enkar Sirsy.

I've just finished The Fall 1. Enkar Sirsy was described as being red-haired. Sissy Spacek would be great in that role.....:techman:
