Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Not as tall or broad-shouldered as Michael Clarke Duncan, but he definitely as the face down perfect.

^ Obviously, none of you guys actually saw the "Friday's Child" episode of the original Star Trek, which was when Leonard James Akaar first appeared. :)

Nope. :p

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Seems to me as if someone was confusing Capellans ("Friday's Child") and Excalbians ("The Savage Curtain"). The latter are rocky and orange.

^ That's a photoshopped picture of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Is there some kind of joke I'm not getting here? :p

Actually, given who Zife was apparently supposed to represent, I'm surprised a different picture wasn't used, if you get my drift...

Well, kinda hard to turn him bald, I'd presume...

^ Someone who's skilled enough at Photoshop to turn Eisenhower into a freaking Bolian (complete with blue skin and facial ridge) should be able to make anyone look bald.

i'm going to go through all the posts in this thread just to see if anyone else has suggested it, but wouldn't Richard Dean Anderson make a good Calhoun? He's got that maverick look and he's always bucked authority!

So close.

So close.

I think we decided on Joe Flanigan ages ago....

To be honest, I'm not sure. Go through the thread, I noticed about a year ago I suggested Hugh Laurie when I first started watching House, which I'm not as sure about that any more (now that I've seen all of the show). But definitely not Joe Flanigan, which apparently I've been saying for a year now, as well!

^Which New Frontier books have you been reading? I can see absolutely nothing in Calhoun's character that would be at all reminiscent of either Boxleitner or John Sheridan.

Flanagan almost works for me, and would probably be the best candidate for Calhoun today. Back when the books first came out though, I definitely fell into the Alec Baldwin-as-Jack Ryan-as-Mackenzie Calhoun camp, still do, really. But there's no way he could play the role today. Flanagan's probably the best bet...

But then there's Nathan Fillion (right attitude, I think), or Dylan McDermott (right look, but lousy actor). Either one could do it.

I can't find any pictures of an older bearded Sheriden, could post one or a link to one?

I have actually seen a pic of Joe Flanagan as Calhoun, on one of the fan fiction sites. I don't know if he had a scar on his right cheek since it was a small pic.
