'We' do? Honestly just in the last three pages this timeline is unreliable even by your own posts. We have BTS images showing them using a life sized Tardigrade stand in on set, the image was taken before Abdin even released any footage showing that his Tardigrade was also life sized.
Ah wait, I was wrong, his original Steam trailer (titled Tardigrades) was uploaded in 2015. It does have a tardigrade in it, but it's never standing next to any people, so we don't know how big it is.
The first appearance of it next to a human wasn't until 2017 as far as I can tell from my research.
He changed the name of the game to Tardigrades in 2015, at least according to a blog post made that year.
But you are right, it was originally posted as Epoch on steam.
Edit: Alright the blog was edited, I misread the date on some of the images,
It's not just the idea, though. It's matter of CBS being able to see it and copy it. So, even if he had drawings that were earlier sketches what does that prove regarding infringement and plagiarism?Just on your point regards the on set tardigrade. Do you know if that is evidence for CBS because that would be compelling... again in my non-legal opinion. I just wonder if Abdin can also present some sketches he made earlier tucked away in a draw somewhere with a date? Perhaps a forensic writing expert can prove the pencil lines are aged to a time before Discovery's version?
That's not the way copyright law works.Indeed I have read the legal authorities in this thread determine the law in several posts. However it is still my opinion that he got there first... yes, yes, yes no one will ever be able to prove who sees what on YouTube or the Net so yada yada yada this makes it 'fair' and legal that he is getting the exact (lack) of recognition he deserves. He will lose because how dare he have the nerve to have presented an eclectic group of characters in a trailer for a game he hasn't completed... (long sentence ahead) that just so happened to have been mimicked (co-incidentally) by creative geniuses who would never stoop so low to have been influenced elsewhere. I can hear George Harrison singing "My Sweet Lord" to the strains of "She's so Fine" as I write this![]()

It wasn't like this before. It seems strangely oriented toward blind support of anything the current regime shoves in our faces.
Just trying to get that timeline clear. I suspect CBS would not have access to his sketches (It's not just the idea, though. It's matter of CBS being able to see it and copy it. So, even if he had drawings that were earlier sketches what does that prove regarding infringement and plagiarism?
The case is about CBS stealing his idea, not that he thought of it first.'We' do? Honestly just in the last three pages this timeline is unreliable even by your own posts.

There's nothing in the trailers released before Discovery started production that they stole.Just trying to get that timeline clear. I suspect CBS would not have access to his sketches () if indeed he has them. They were probably too busy watching his trailer instead...

No proof exists or as yet presented? I have to say I am so impressed that we have everything at our fingertips and can be so definitive. Think of all the money and anguish Abdin could have spared himself if he had just run this passed us.Right...
Thus far, no proof of that exists outside of coincidence.
I love the fact that we can assume that CBS is guilty right off the bat. Save the court a lot of time too.No proof exists or as yet presented? Just as an aside I still firmly believe we live in this kind of environment. We perpetuate the right to support an accuser and even expect punishment without legal judgement of the one accused. The Internet just increases our armchair stake in an agenda. It has rather become guilty until proven innocent.I love the fact that we can assume that CBS is guilty right off the bat. Proof up to a legal standard, which, thus far, has not been proven. So, I'll remain convinced of this until proven otherwise. Much the way CBS is guilty until proven otherwise argument goes.

Seriously there is nothing anyone has said here that makes me change my opinion. He not only developed the imagery of the tardigrade Discovery's Ripper mimicked but there were other 'coincidences'. This little package of ideas that Discovery also happened to have exploited. I think it does matter he was first, but that is just my opinion. I'm not pretending to be some kind of legal authority here, I let others do thatArmageddon vs Deep Impact.
All of those alien invasion shows right after Lost premiered.
Parallel development. Abdin may have “got there first” with the idea. But if he doesn’t publish a thing prior to the point where CBS already had the episodes in question in the can, it’s really a moot point. Remember, Abdin didn’t really play his cards with the Tardigrade hug/FTL travel until season one of Discovery was well into production.
Who said I was worried about CBS? I am firmly concerned about the exact environment you are describing of guilty until proven innocent. Undermining that in the United States legal system is something with far-reaching implications that are concerning to me, and the idea of justice.Just as an aside I still firmly believe we live in this kind of environment. We perpetuate the right to support an accuser and even expect punishment without legal judgement of the one accused. The Internet just increases our armchair stake in an agenda. That being said Abdin is swimming against the tide, I wouldn't worry about CBS, they'll get by untarnished.
What does that matter in terms of legality? Many have stated, in this thread, that they believed he came up with his idea, but so did others in a similar vein. Tardigrades are neither new, nor extremely unique in SF, as illustrated multiple times over.I think it does matter he was first, but that is just my opinion.
It proves that we don't all think the same... it happens you know. Legally none of us here has the word on that. But, if you want to believe him, please continue to do so. I am just confused as to what purpose or point it proves...
It's highly confusing considering the legal facts as presented. It proves that we don't all thing the same... it happens you know. Legally none of us here has the word on that.
Pot, kettle. It's highly confusing considering the legal facts as presented.
It feels like insisting upon believing something no matter what.
