CARETAKER: They're children.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

JANEWAY: Children have to grow up. We're explorers too. Most of the species we've encountered have overcome all kinds of adversity without a Caretaker. It's the challenge of surviving on their own that helps them to evolve. Maybe your children will do better than you think.

 

[BlueStuff]

KIM [OC]: Voyager to Janeway.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

JANEWAY: Go ahead.

 

[BlueStuff]

KIM [OC]: We've got problems here.

[Bridge]

(There is a massive vessel out there, beating little Voyager up.)
KIM: The Kazon just got some back up.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

JANEWAY [OC]: We need more time.

[Barn]

JANEWAY: Can you hold them off for another few minutes?

 

[BlueStuff]

KIM [OC]: We'll do our best. Kim out.

 

[LeadHead]

Maquis Ship

Chakotay: Their weapons array has been hit. They're in trouble.

 

[BlueStuff]

TORRES: Neither of us has enough fire power to stop that ship.

 

[LeadHead]

Chakotay: I'm setting a collision course, but the guidance system is disabled. I'll have to pilot the ship manually. Get the crew ready to beam to Voyager. And drop shields for transport.

B'Elanna leaves

Chakotay: Paris, my crew is coming over. Tell one of your crackerjack starfleet transporter chiefs to keep a lock on me. I'm gonna try to take some heat off your tail.

 

[BlueStuff]

PARIS [OC]: Acknowledged.

[Bridge]

PARIS: But don't for one second think this makes us even, Chakotay. Your life is still mine.

[Maquis ship]

PARIS [OC]: Paris out.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

[Bridge]
(Torres enters as a wounded Starfleet is helped out.)

ROLLINS: I'm holding the lock on him, sir, but he's getting too close.

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: I'm getting you out of there Chakotay.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

CHAKOTAY [OC]: Not yet!

 

[LeadHead]

On the screen we see the Maquis ship take more weapon hits and start on fire.

Paris: You're breaking up! Standby to transport.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

CHAKOTAY: Wait.

(He is so close to the Kazon he can almost see through the port holes.)

CHAKOTAY: Now!
(KaBOOM! The Kazon ship has fires raging internally.)

 

[LeadHead]

In transporter room 2, Chakotay walks off the transporter pad smiling at the crackerjack starfleet transporter chief.

Paris: (over comm) Transporter Room 2, do you have him?

 

[BlueStuff]

CHAKOTAY: They've got me.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

[Array]
TUVOK: Captain, I can access the system to send us back to Federation space, but it will take several hours to activate.

 

[BlueStuff]

JANEWAY: Unless you help us.
