Okay, how about the Ben Finney/USS Republic incident with the Atomic Matter Pile? The Farragut disaster was 3 years ago in universe, so I don't think they're doing that.
And I don't think they're pushing the disaster further up the timeline because they have a memorial pin for the ship in an upcoming episode.
Maybe they will make a Pike prequel one day? I wouldn’t waste the opportunity for a Robert April appearance on a flash back episode. It would be too much of a Menagerie rehash. Would April be able to carry a whole 5 year mission based series or was his command cut short?Sometime during SNW's many (hopefully) seasons, I would like to see an episode or two about Robert April's time aboard the Enterprise. It could be some type of flashback episode, or one that somehow ties in to a current crisis. Maybe the launch of the brand new USS Enterprise, or when he hands off the ship to Pike.
I think it would be cool to see the Enterprise's first mission.![]()
Definitely a new timeline then.I have to say I like the relationship between Pike & April. A kind of friendly cameradery with a superior. Like Adm Forest & Archer, or JJPike & JJKirk. Very different from the "usual" Admirals on Star Trek and very human, makes Starfleet feel more like an actual organisation with real people in it.
My guess is that Admiral April is the one that actually came up with the "Five Year Mission" directive. They seem to have implied that April did carry an entire five-year mission tour. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been wearing admiral's stripes in 2259.
Wondering what his relationships with the rest of the admiralty - Cornwell, Terrel, etc. - were like.
... because They've never done that before? That would be a carryover from the novels.
And who would they perhaps consider for Sarah April/Poole?
They should consider Karole Selmon the actress that played Yareena in TNG's Code Of Honor. She deserves a chance at a better Star Trek part in some better Star Trek episodes.
I'd love to see a flashback to the launch of the USS Enterprise in 2245, with a big cameo by retired Federation president Jonathan Archer.
It wasn't a novel, it was a historical program.and just part of a stupid holo-novel !
I would 100% love that. I was thinking the exact same thing. Actually, I was thinking a mini series or maybe 20 years from now they want to do another Star Trek show and do April.Sometime during SNW's many (hopefully) seasons, I would like to see an episode or two about Robert April's time aboard the Enterprise. It could be some type of flashback episode, or one that somehow ties in to a current crisis. Maybe the launch of the brand new USS Enterprise, or when he hands off the ship to Pike.

*Peers at King Daniel with binoculars**looks over at Discovery season 2's baddie, based on one of the novels*
*glances at David Mack, prolific Trek novelist and consultant to modern Trek (and who gave the Disco bridge crew some of their full names)*
*looks at Rok-Tahk on Prodigy, based on a character/species from the novels*
*Glances at Kersten Beyer, who wrote Voyager novels and then co-created ST: Picard*
They're not canon, but it's fair to say they're influence. George Kirk as first officer on the USS Kelvin is inspired by Diane Carey's Final Frontier and Best Destiny, where he was first officer of the Enterprise.
That is only an IMDB rumor and has never had any indication of being true at all.We almost had the TOS Enterprise show up in the 2009 movie instead of the Kelvin
Specifically, a giant model of one hanging from the ceiling of Admiral Marcus's office. While it wasn't the Enterprise, we almost had a TOS Connie show up in Into Darkness, it can be seen in a deleted scene.
