Captain Picard Reacts To Star Trek: Discovery (parody)

I changed the title to make it more reflective of the actual video instead of trying to make it look like Patrick Stewart was making a real commentary on Discovery.

I wonder if it is as painful to him as it was for me. I have never re-watched it. I still feel deeply guilty for bringing a friend to watch it, even though we went to the LOTR movie the next week to restore our faith in cinema.

I get that - after a few weeks of STD I had to watch a lot of old Hunter and Gomer Pyle episode to renew my faith in intelligent TV.

I get the criticism of DSC. Personally I think it is worth watching. It will probably get better especially since Bryan "Can't Hold a Job" Fuller is out. His setup for the show was the worst thing it had going for it.

Well, what his successors brought to it was pretty much trash.

So yeah, a reset and new people can't hurt.

I'm sure that if Sir Patrick has seen Discovery, his thought is "this has been done before, and much better." Every Captain thinks his Star Trek was the best.

There was an on-street TMZ style interview where Stewart said he hadn't seen Discovery, but that he "might have cause too soon." This happened right before the Picard Show announcement, and was seen by many as a hint that he would be getting involved in Trek again.

I don't know if he has seen it, or if he even cares (as I don't think he was ever a big Trek fan). He may have seen an episode or two since just to get in his head the current style and so he can better interact with fans at cons (or out of curiosity).

He seems really glad to become Picard again though.
