The Honest Trailers crew gives the flick a fair and balanced respectful shrug:

Just got done watching it for the first time.

.... So that was the movie that fired up so many Men-ist snowflakes over the summer?

Thought it was decent, probably not in the top half of the Marvel movies but not near the bottom. Good action scenes, thought Brie Larson did a good job (but she's kind of "cold" and awkward in interviews, so I'm supposed to hate her) and thought she performed good with the action and humor and stuff.

I mean, what was the controversy and problem with this movie again? Why am I supposed to hate it? Why am I supposed to not like her tiny appearances in Endgame and want to see the "cut" that removes her?

Nick Fury doing dishes is an affront to men everywhere.

Was that even a thing out side of the internet? The only place I've heard about it is here on the forum. And it seems like about maybe half of the posts are about it or refer to it, which is a shame that it's as much a topic of conversation as the movie. Why do foolish internet ramblings mean so much to some people that they have to make threads or use half of other ones just to discuss it?

For my own part, except for here, I don't go to too many sites, I don't like knowing things before I see the movie and stay away from everything, also, 90% of the YouTube videos I watch were shared here so I'm certainly not searching out these things.

I gave this movie an A. I thought it did a great job filing in more of the MCU cracks that I didn't even know were there.
I never actually sat there thinking, how did Fury loose his eye, or how did Coulson meet Fury or several other things. I liked the little touches like the caption calling Hala the homeworld of the Kree Civilization instead of Empire because in that part of the movie Carol still thought she was a Kree and they were nominally the good guys vs the evil Skrulls. I thought they did a good job with Annette Benning as the original Captian Mar-Vell and Project: Pegasus. Plus I liked that this base was the same base that was at the beginning of Avengers.

It's mainly because Brie Larson said some stuff the thin skinned crybabies found offensive and threatening over how "Wrinkle in Time" was received, and because they disliked how Kevin Feige said she'd be the most powerful Cosmic character thus far as opposed to characters like Adam Warlock.

Plus it doesn't help that since the Civil War 2 even in the comics Carol had been portrayed in a less sympathetic and more villainous light. If the comic writers had known what the movies were planning they'd have not done those stories.
