This is inaccurate, at least from my experience. Not on YT, not on Reddit and certainly not here. I think I see more levied at me for being a defender of TLJ than otherwise.

It's as close as you'll find on youtube, where things have to contain some element of entertainment-factor. But please, keep arguing over semantics.
You are the one calling a YouTube video "scholarly". Which means you either don't know what it means or are reaching so far you're going to fall out of your chair.
It's just silly to get butt hurt over a movie. It's entertainment and is optional. No one is forcing anyone to see it. There's more to worry about in this world than butt hurt feelings over a movie. If it hurts so much you have to lash out at it you seriously need to reassess your priorities.

Like I already said, you can be offended by a movie only if you are a black person in the 1915 and you have just watched Birth of a Nation. Not by a movie made only for entertainment which the most subversive message is "You know, perhaps women can do something more than cooking and making children".
There are plenty of films that are offensive to various groups of people. But it's all similar to Birth of a Nation, it's depicting an already marginalized group and just horribly attacking them on screen. Captain Marvel is not that. It's a comic book movie and based on early buzz, it's a lot of fun times and there's a cat that we're all going to love. It is not an assault on white men. No movie is.
I haven't' watched that video, but perhaps you are looking for the word "thoughtful" rather than "scholarly"?
I'd say even that would be a stretch...
There are very well researched and well written YouTube video essays and given the visual element could be argued to be art, none of them are film reviews though since that is so subjective.
How in the name of Marlon Bundo are these idiots going to handle a movie about Ms. Marvel?
I'm picturing them issuing threats to boycott the movie unless Kamala is recast as a middle aged white guy or something. I'm also picturing the inevitable result of such threats.
