Captain Marvel (2019)

With Skrulls in play, does this make Black Widow that we've been following all this time (or someone else in the Avengers movies) one?

So Marvel Studios has fucking perfected the abilities to de-age someone, completely CGI someone (Robert Downey, Jr. for half of Iron Man 3 due to injury and/or scheduling issues) or just swap out someone's face.

Why in the actual fuck does LucasFilm not have access to this technology/CGI team despite being a subsidiary of the same parent company? You'd think they would have been able to utilize it for Rogue One.

Well they're using it on people who are alive. ILM is using it for people who have passed away(Peter Cushing) or weren't involved in the decision making (Carrie Fisher)

I'm surprised to see Law with pink skin rather than blue.

Why? He's playing Mar-Vell, who's always been depicted with pink skin.

Actually, those pictures kind of prove otherwise, that she in fact worked for the Kree in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Not just worked for the Kree, apparently in the MCU she's half Kree.

"According to star Brie Larson, Carol’s human half will constantly be at war with the part of her that is Kree. “You have this Kree part of her that’s unemotional, that is an amazing fighter and competitive,”

It's a lot easier if you have the actual person on set, performing the scene and getting the proper lighting. It's just a matter changing some details. Creating a face from scratch and creating a performance is a different challenge and tends to show the imperfections.

Carol shtupped her own baby.

The canon is fine.

With the way the MCU is handling things, Avengers #200 will probably be the only Carol Danvers story used by the MCU. Mixed in with all the stuff they stole from Green Lantern, of course.

The return of Coulson is the selling point for me. I wonder what he looks like.
I don’t think this news broke the internet like she said. :)

Apologies if you or someone else put the link up but I thought i'd put it again because I liked the description from the article I found the quote in. I wondered if they were keeping the Kree/Human hybrid origin.

Dude, not only did it NOT break the internet, the internet barely even noticed this news. I thought the costume looked fine, but the last Captain Marvel I remember (outside of Billy Batson) was Monica Rambeau.

Monica Rambeau was, like, at least three Captain Marvel's ago.;)

Well I quit reading Marvel Comics around '91 or so because they were no longer the Marvel I grew up with. But then, that's life, eh? Sometimes you just got to realize that this thing that meant so much to you isn't for you anymore. Rather than spend an inordinate amount of time pissing and moaning about it, it's just best to move on quietly and let the next generation have their turn with the toys.

Seeing those pics, I must once again say:

KREE DO NOT WEAR THAT FUCKING COSTUME. I DON'T CARE IF YOU PAINT IT GREEN, IT WILL NEVER BE A KREE COSTUME. CAROL DANVERS NEVER WORKED FOR THE KREE IN THE MAIN MCU (outside of a 1-2 issue story in an Avengers comic where she was brainwashed, but she was still ms. marvel then and never got out of her Ms. Marvel costume) AND SHE INVENTED THAT CAPTAIN MARVEL COSTUME HERSELF. SHE WOULD NEVER WORK WITH THE KREE, FUCK OFF. SHE ALSO NEVER TRAINED WITH THE KREE, BUT I GUESS COPYING RYAN REYNOLDS GREEN LANTERN FILM IS THE BEST THING THE HACKS MAKING THIS COULD COME UP WITH, EXCEPT THAT MOVIE WAS WATCHABLE AND THIS IS SHIT.

Also, a comparison I saw on twitter but should have seen immediately all by myself, apparently the costume/make up people in this movie are fans of Dragonball Evolution

Well, congrats MCU. You've made a movie worse then Spider-Man Homecoming, and one less faithful to the actual comics then fucking Fant4stic all in one shit package. Zach Snyder could have made a better fucking Carol danvers movie then the assholes that made this one, and that guy is both out of his mind and a hack, which unfortunately would be a step up from this shit.

To say one nice thing, at least this isn't as shit as the "Shazam" movie. So, it still beats the movie loosely based on the real Captain Marvel. That is literally the only positive thing i can say about this shit, though.
Predictable as ever. Thank you for not disappointing us. :bolian:

I miss her, she was my favorite Avengers leader. I had hoped they might have Monica as Captain Marvel for this. But, I guess Carol has more of an outer space thing going on than Monica.

So do some Kree have pink skin then?

Which really is a nice, easy way to streamline her origin. I wonder if Mar-Vell will end up being her father? That would still make him the one who gave her her powers.

No, the predictable thing is people worshiping something to the point of hating different opinions. But, I'll always stick to my guns, regardless of the annoying repetitiveness of the people who try to suppress opposing opinions every single time.
