CAPTAIN AMERICA-shooting July 2010:Casting, Rumors, Pics till release

Re: CAPTAIN AMERICA-shooting July 2010:Casting, Rumors, Pics till rele

With all this speculation over whether a movie with such a patriotic hero will play well outside of the USA, I am curious: How many posters in this thread are not Americans?

Some new pics/stills. I can pinpoint the first one from a trailer but the other 3 are new to me.

Cap and the Commandoes overlooking a valley from a ridge.

Dark, spooky building...can't lead to anything good.

Interesting. I note the apparent non-circular shape of the shield on his back in the second pic. :vulcan:

Yes, the outfit and shield in the second pic are what Cap originally wears into combat, but it proves less than ideal, so he and Howard Stark come up with his blue suit and the iconic shield.

A very shield centric movie poster has been unveiled today.

I like it a lot!!

Looking forward to the movie... but I still can't help but think Evans looks way too young and boyish to be Captain America.

Well it's at the start of his career - how old do you think he should look?

Didn't you know that Captain America was always in his forties?

Allegedly there's a new trailer hitting the net tonight.

It entirely depends how it's done and by whom.. if it were Michael Bay i can see it being rejected due to extreme flag waving. That movie would be like a touchdown for him and his "America.. fuck yeah!" style of filmmaking but in the hands of a "good" filmmaker who understands what Cap is about i don't see why the rest of the world would reject this movie (even if Cap is one of the most US centric superhero in existence).

I think it will make decent coin.. possibly great earnings if the story really is well done and not just a byproduct to have cool fights, props and set pieces.

Cap's supposed to be in his late teens or early 20s when he takes the serum. His date of birth is supposed to be July 4 (what else?!) 1917. Making him 22 at the outbreak of WW2 or 24 when the US entered the war. And the average age for GIs during WW was very young too. I've no problem with Evans' age.

Yeah, I kinda rolled my eyes when I learned that Rogers was born on July 4. Come on, that's taking it a little too far.

Re: CAPTAIN AMERICA-shooting July 2010:Casting, Rumors, Pics till rele

They should have made his birthday September 17. That's much more subtle. September 17, 1787 is the day the Constitution was signed.
