Not a bad choice at all, I like him. And certainly much better in my eyes than all the others i had seen being considered for the part.

How the hell can Marvel not be planning to release Captain AMERICA on the July 4th Weekend?

Because Transformers 3 is slated for release on July 4th weekend and going up directly against it would be suicidal.

I dunno, I think the one time of the year where we have the highest level of patriotism in the US is the 4th of July and having a movie called Captain America and it being the origin story set during WW2 with the US fighting the good fight against the evil of the Nazi's.

I think Captain America would win that.

At the very least they should bump it up then to Memorial Day. It just seems a waste of 'patriotic bump' to bring it out in the middle of july.

Nah, even the "America, **** yeah!" factor wouldn't save Captain America from getting obliterated if it opened the same weekend as Transformers 3.

But if this movie proves to be successful, I can see Captain America 2 being released on the Fourth of July weekend. Maybe Thursday, July 4, 2013?

Don't know if this was DarkHorizons doing or not. Its a crappy costume, as if they shopped someone's head off a homemade costume from Comic Con.

That said, I think he carries off the colour scheme well. Not many people can wear a flag and not look ridiculous doing it, but with big-budget-quality costuming, I think Evans has the look to make it work.

I had the same reaction. However, if they ever decided to do a spin-off movie about Isaiah Bradley, Smith might be a good choice (although, he might be getting a little too old for the part).

That's just a Chris Evans photo with someone drawing the costume onto him.

You can see the seams on the costume, it is not a drawing. Someone either cut his head out or cut the costume from somewhere and merged the two. Its neither here nor there the point is someone has said, "Hey what does evans look like in that flag color scheme" and they did a rough mock up.

It's definitely a Photoshop paint job. The seams are because it's transparent.

Should Warners ever want to compete with Marvel's Iron Man franchise I think Smith would make a fantastic John Henry Irons. I know Kenneth Johnson's version blew chunks but I'm certain there's a good Steel movie to be had.
