Can't think of this TV show...

It annoys me but I can't figure it out.

It aired I believe on WB on Sunday, so in the 90s. It was about an alien living in the basement of this guy's house. I thought the guy was Ed O'Neill but it wasn't. He hated his mother-in-law. I don't believe it was ALF because the alien didn't look like Alf.

The only other alien show I can think of from the 90s was called Meego, which aired on ABC for about half a season I believe. Never watched it so don't know the specifics...

It wasn't Unhappily Ever After, was it? They had some kinda stuffed toy he talked to in the basement.

It does sound like Unhappily Ever After. The reason you are probably reminded of Ed O'Neill is that the show was in the same vein as Married...With Children. It wasn't an alien, but a stuffed bunny voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait.
